Honda CRF190L Adventure patent filed in India

Honda has filed a design patent for the CRF190L Adventure in India.

The CRF190L Adventure features a dual-tone bodywork that is inspired by the CRF1100L Africa Twin. The bike has a square-ish headlamp with a windshield and raised handlebars with knuckle guards.

The CRF190L is powered by a 184cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 17 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 16.1 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. Now, this is the same engine that is used in the Hornet and CB200X. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The CRF190L features conventional telescopic forks at the front and has mono-shock suspension at the rear. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels and comes equipped with disc brakes at both ends.

In India, the CRF190L could compete with the Hero XPulse 200.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully the CRF 250 also comes to India.

The Rally variant makes more sense, considering Indian roads.

Unfortunately Honda think we are 2nd class citizens of the world and don't consider us to be deserving of their global models. Even with RE, KTM and BMW all milking this space for about 5 years now.

At least, they seem to have woken from their slumber of late and are giving us this cut-price CRF, now that Hero seems to be doing well with their Xpulse.

Honda used to lead the market once upon a time with bold new products but now they seem to be copying what trends other manufacturers set before they have something to offer. Poor show Honda! We deserve better.

Well I think Honda has a lot of opportunity to capture the rising adventure category here. The CRF 190, CRF 250 and the CRF300 Rally could bring competition to all the most selling displacement categories.
It's good to see they are starting off atleast. Crossing fingers that they hopefully launch it.

Would be a much better option to consider the CRF300 Rally for India. It will definitely be costlier than the RE Himalayan, but you get a much better built bike to go on unlimited trails and offroad adventure touring fun. Solo of course in my opinion!
Anyways, Honda has its own ways of doing things in India.

Re: Honda CRF190L Adventure patent filed in India

I am a Honda fan, among all the bikes in their lineup I find this bike the worst looking and disgusted by it. It looks like someone tried to make a cheap copy of Africa Twin just from their memory. While I dont think they will launch it and if they do it will probably flop in the market like the CB200X. Seriously with the Xpulse in the market you cannot consider any-other cheap dual sport.

Honda, if you are considering a real ADV for India, launch the CRF250 and CRF300, or maybe think about the XRE190 or XRE300. Or maybe finally launch the CB125X. But not this, seriously who designed this bike??!!
