Suzuki Avenis Standard Edition launched at Rs. 86,500 The new Avenis (106 Kg kerb mass) has lots of added features. It's drivetrain is the same 124.3 cc/ 8.7 ps/ 10 Nm that it's siblings the Access (103/104 Kg kerb mass) and Burgman Street (110 Kg kerb mass) use. The front fairings are so chubby with multiple contours at every few square inches. The competition demands and the younger generation revels on these looks and the stickers. The Avenis has SUZUKI painted in the largest font that fits dimensions of the two rear panels to its left and right. That's no way to announce that you've arrived ! It has a charger fitted glove box (with no lock) to the left, just below the handlebar on the inside of the front fairing. With so much flab on its front, this glove box could have been larger with a small console for the charger within. The petrol tank lid located behind the seat opens with the flick of the key, the lock located just below the rear seat end.
Its nearest competitors the Honda Dio (109.51 cc/ 7.76 ps / 9.0 Nm) (105 Kg kerb mass) costs lesser and is lower on the features and power stakes. The TVS N Torq (kerb mass 118 Kg) is also a 124.8 cc (9.25 bhp/ 10.5 Nm) and costs almost the same as the Avenis.
Aprilia SR 125 (124.45 cc/ 9.78 bhp/ 9.7 Nm) (kerb mass 116 Kg) with its European genes has a nearly Rs 10 - 23 K higher price tag falling in a higher price niche.
