Do keep in mind that owning and living with a BMW badged 310 will be a lot more expensive than the TVS equivalent. The owners circles that you interact with, will be very different as well.
Makes sense. After spending about a month contemplating the options, I feel the G 310GS fits my budget and requirements aptly. It is also a lot more practical, easier for a new biker (like me), and has been in the market for a while now (no spare issues). Obviously, the snob value of BMW is ever-present and at roughly 3.5L on-road, it is surprisingly pocket friendly - almost 90% sure this would be my first bike. Still looking forward to the 310RR launch, however, from the initial images, it doesn't feel special over the Apache 310RR. Only saving grace could be the pricing and if BMW introduces some additional features and improvements over its TVS sibling.

As per the images it looks like the BMW G 310 RR get michelin pilot street instead of the RR310's michelin road 5.

Style sport is simply overpriced for what it offers. This will only sell among people who liked the RR310, but hated it for the TVS badge.

re: BMW G 310 RR launched in India, priced from Rs 2.85 lakh - Rs 2.99 lakh

I expected some classiness of the BMW color palate to rub onto the G310RR. But nope, it shows they are trying to scream "Hey look, me BMW!!" with that bold lettering on the fairing. And the black is exact opposite. As if a completely de-stickered RR 310.

Well, I'll give BMW one mark for putting in the effort to have a logo slot on the fairing. The only tiny physical difference between the G310RR and RR310.

Edit: So 14k extra just for getting the chassis painted black? As GTO says, welcome to the rip-off club.

Wait, is that a sticker job!?!?! Expected BMW to do better or bring better modification of their own. Soon aftermarket stickering painting will be in full force for previous RR310 owners

So some info from this Autocar article.

Some missing stuff compared to the base RR 310.

- No Bluetooth.
- Conventional discs compared to petal discs.
- Michelin Pilot street instead of Road 5s.

re: BMW G 310 RR launched in India, priced from Rs 2.85 lakh - Rs 2.99 lakh

My only hope from this partnership is that the G310R/GS will hopefully be made available through cheaper TVS-badged cousins, making those offerings a bit more accessible to people. If removing a TVS sticker and slapping on a BMW logo is worth 20-30k, then the reverse should be true too.

For some Rs.13,000 less, you can get the RR310 with adjustable rear and front suspension. I see no reason to see even one of these being sold.

They could have at least provided adjustable suspension as standard and charged this premium, it would have been palatable. This is a joke.

Buying this would be BMW (Big Money Wasted)!

There is literally no reason to buy it over RR310 except for the BMW badge. You get inferior tyres, no Bluetooth connectivity, conventional discs, no adjustable suspension for equal money.

For me personally, RR310 colors are much better than these.

I think BMW is only targeting around 50 units per month, as only brand conscious people will go for it.

Don't worry, it gets even worse!

The current TVS Apache RR310 (the EXACT same bike) comes with Michelin Road 5 tyres from the factory which is quite possibly THE best sport touring tyre in the world.

The badge engineered BMW in the launch event pictures seems to sitting on Michelin Pilot Street tyres which are good but nothing compared to the mighty Road 5's. You also miss out on the Bluetooth features and Petal discs that are found on the RR310.

2.87 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) gets you a BTO (built to order) version of the TVS Apache RR310 that has fully adjustable KYB Suspension front and rear, TVS Racing paintjob, more aggressive clip-ons and footpegs. All of this for 2,000 more than the badge engineered BMW G310RR.

A TVS version of the G310R naked (RTR310 perhaps?) and a TVS G310GS ADV would kill whatever little sales BMW gets in the 30-50hp segment.

I would rather go for TVS RR310 BTO version
+ Better tech
+ Better features
+ Better paint/stickers
+ (I assume) cheaper maintenance
