re: 15-year old Karizma submerged in flooded basement | EDIT: Now restored

Fantastic. Please post the amount you have spent for the parts, labour etc. Please take some photos outside and not under the dim parking lot. Are you able to source the parts quickly or there was a waiting time for some?

Congratulations on the restoration! She looks pristine!

Do you mind sharing where you got the work done? I have a late 2003 Karizma that has only done 12k on the ODO but is in poor shape due to non usage and neglect. Would love to breathe new life into it.

I still remember how smooth the engine was when I rode mine for the first time from showroom to home. Creamy! Pulsar 180 was all the rage those days. Till HH came out with the 223 cc Karizma and made the bajaj look utilitarian. HH even gifted me a security system for the bike.

Fond memories!

She is back in my friend’s comforting arms. Here is wishing her and my friend a long and renewed journey together till eternity.

Thank you all for your support and guidance towards getting this beauty restored.
This picture of Karizma is going today on my laptop background for a long time. If mechanically no problem then it is an amazing restoration job done by mechanics. Looks fresh out of factory.

Can you ask your friend to do a photoshoot and share pics here ..I need more of them ( I am being greedy I know, but one can always ask ).

Please share more pics (post-restoration) ASAP.

I was hugely elated when I saw your post. I remember the evening when I read the post about a Flood-drowned Karizma. I was so saddened to see that it was the OG Karizma that met its end of life in such a tragic manner.

This restoration feels like a patient coming to life from a near-death accident!! Kudos to the doc aka mechanic and the family (TBHP members) for keeping faith in the process. (Time, Money, and EFFORT)!!

Absolutely drool worthy! Giving me ideas of getting a well maintained Karizma, retrofitting a rear disc brake (retrofitted from ZMR) and running on 120 Section tubeless tyre at the rear. We deserve to see multiple pictures boss! Keep them coming!

Is the Bike back to where this incident happened in the first place?
Yemalur, Bangalore: is in the vicinity of 3 lakes and streams on the eastern side.
Just a thought.

Great job on the restoration, it is a different satisfying feeling to see the final result.

Best wishes to your friend and may his and bike bond grow even more stronger.

I remember seeing this thread when it was created and now seeing this update has filled me with inexplicable happiness.

Man! I have a 04 Candy Red which Hrithik rode in the ad and has done just 22000 kms and needs restoration too. Hope the author can help us finding and sourcing parts. ( I hope they are still available! ) BTW...Since it is past 15 years, what about registration expiry? How are you going about the same? Would love to hear about it.

To be honest, I haven't thought that far. But I don't think it should be a challenge as there are hundreds of older bikes on the road. Pretty much every RX100 we see on the road should be twice the age or close. I think I'll find a good RTO agent to help with it.

Reg parts, I don't think that'll be a blocker at all. I don't mind not finding cowl etc. as my plan is to strip it all off and make it look like a basic but slightly bigger CD100. Round headlamp et all. The engine is what I want!
