TVS NTorq-rivalling Hero scooter spotted

A new scooter from Hero MotoCorp has been spotted testing. It is likely to compete in the 125cc segment.

Hero’s new scooter features a sporty design with a sharp headlamp and an X-shaped tail lamp. It has a telescopic fork suspension at the front and is equipped with dual-tone alloy wheels. The scooter also has a digital instrument console and a couple of cubby holes on the fairing.

Reports suggest that the new model could be powered by the 125cc, single-cylinder engine from the Maestro Edge and Destini 125. It produces 9 BHP and 10.4 Nm.

The new model could take on the likes of the TVS NTorq 125, Aprilia SR 125 and the Suzuki Avenis.

Too late an entry into this segment? Looks very similar to the Ntorq (Grazia and Avenis anyways are the lookalikes of Ntorq).

The top player in the scooter segment Honda too has a model "Grazia" in this segment,
I have hardly seen any on the streets .

Honda Grazia Sold only 479 Units in May - 2022.

The segment leader in the 125 CC Sporty Scooter segment seems to be Ntorq.
June -22 Sales
TVS Ntorq - 22,741
Suzuki Avenis - 9,284

The power and the pricing of scooters in this segment are very comparable to most Electric Scooters in the market now by reputed players like TVS, Ather, Ola. Very interesting segment to watchout for the next few months.
