Ola Electric has teased a new electric scooter that will be unveiled on August 15, 2022.

Ola hasn’t revealed any details about the new product, except that the new model is claimed to be the “greenest EV” the company has ever made.

It has been speculated that Ola might introduce a new model that will slot below the S1 Pro. It could get a less powerful electric motor and a smaller battery pack.

The Ola S1 Pro uses a 3.97 kWh battery pack offering a maximum range of 181 km. It powers an electric motor that produces 11 BHP and 58 Nm, enabling the e-scooter to sprint from 0-60 km/h in 5 seconds. The S1 Pro has a top speed of 115 km/h.

It does seem to be the case. The quote in the teaser says 'The greenest scooter just got greener'. Definitely sounds like a new color variant to me.

Looks like ARAI testing is completely disconnected with practical usage of the vehicle. OLA real world range is close to 1/3rd I’d what they claimed.
And they might have heavily degraded the original Etergo App scooter and brought out a “Jugaad” model for India, but they have not shown any truth in any claims, promises. Even initial booking number was bloated. They never got whatever they claimed.
The difference between OLA and other smaller players (not Ather) is that OLA will have enough dough to try out things and make course corrections.
With their recent announcements they haven’t learned a thing. Still quoting impossible range and haven’t sorted out their hap hazard ways from delivery to maintenance.

In the video, he mentions that everything is same as the S1 Pro, even the features. Then what is the difference? S1 Pro is 45K more than this introductory price.

Any information on battery size? Is the battery same capacity as S1 pro, the old story where battery was around 4KWhr but software limited to around 3KWhr?

I have booked this S1 again. I have requested for cancellation of Oben Rorr. Oben is a good bike but I am not happy with seating position or seat type. Most of us are family people and I donot understand sport type seating. Also, I could not book test driving inspite of some calendy app or link. I even called the company twice. Worst thing, they selected a place to offer test rides which is around 8 to 10kms from nearest Metro station. (So much for MBAs in marketing and sales).

Only wish I have with OLA, if they ever read team BHP. Put a manual key! Even a master Key is fine. I am planning to alter this vehicle once I get it to have a manual key option.

This time the battery capacity is reduced, not a software lock like last time. I have counted the cells in S1 pro and S1, here are my observation based on photos showed.

S1 Pro: 15×7×2=210 cells
S1: 12×7×2=168 cells

You can clearly see they have removed few rows of cells from the S1 pack.

If 210 cells gives you 4kwh, you need 210×0.75=157.5 cells for 3kwh, since it has 10 cells more, S1 could have battery capacity of ~3.2kwh.

Price necessarily isn't a differentiator now. They should've spoken about the safety improvements if they really wanted to make a difference.

Where did you get that from? Are you saying that Ola S1 Pro users are getting range close to 60kms on a full charge compared to original claim of 180?

It seems like Ola and/or one of its subsidiaries is being sued in Amsterdam by one or more of the private equity investors for misleading investors and hiding material data and selling assets.
