Hero XPulse 300 & Xtreme 300S caught testing in Ladakh

Hero MotoCorp is putting two of its new bikes through their paces in the high-altitude region of Ladakh. The bikes seen in this video are believed to be the XPulse 300 and Xtreme 300S.

Although the bikes are wrapped in camouflage, there are a couple of components that give away their identity. The ADV bike clearly has a red trellis frame underneath, which was first seen on the XPulse 300 Concept. The shape of the clutch cover is also familiar.

The XPulse 300 test bike is equipped with a petal-type disc brake and wire spoke wheels. The bike also has a chrome side stand and a rear swingarm that looks similar to that of the concept.

While the XPulse 300 is expected to rival the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS, the Xtreme 300S might compete with the KTM RC 390, Apache RR 310 and the BMW G 310 RR.

The full-faired Xtreme 300S features multi-spoke alloy wheels and clip-on handlebars. Both bikes are likely to share the same engine with a displacement of around 300cc.

Good news. I think Hero has taken more time than expected. Having capabilities; don’t know why they do not focus from 300cc and above catagory. I was super impressed with their presentation of Hero Hastur in one of the Auto Expo exhibitions but nothing really happened then.

Now since they have considerable experience of Dakar too; they must compete hard in the 300-500 cc with good product bank. Hero can up the game well.

Cheers

Hero Impulse 300 if launched soon i. e. Before Himalayan 450, will rule the segment for sometime as Hero is known to keep prices affordable.

C'mon Hero, we're all rooting for you! get back to your prime!! This ADV should do wonders in its segment! And coming to the semi-faired 300cc Xtreme, if once that's out, the XF3R should come out soon too. Absolute VFM options.

Go Hero!

Also, the last time this platform was showcased, it looked something like this. There might be a little ergonomic changes too, made to suit the charcater and usage of the bike. I really hope that the engine that's showcased here makes it to production. Looking at the bulge the ADV XPulse has, I'm excited! :

It is very amusing that after all these many years, Hero now had invested on a new engine when future of ICE are bleak. Also, quarter litre and above segment is not Hero's turf, nor this segment can be termed as mass segment in India, and with Royal Enfield as stiff competitor there, feels like they are a bit late.

In the mass market maybe but I can assure you for enthusiasts ICEs aren't going anywhere, unless the government imposes a total ban.

About time and about perfect time with the pandemic low having greatly subsided for office and tourings.

This would be hitting the Himalayan and Yezdi hard until the Himalayan 450 shows up. Even then it would be the lighter option and more off road focussed.
I am getting CRF300 Rally vibes with an educated guess of this having a Rally edition too and all this localised to our market and budgets.
I hope they also increase the tank range on this one.

I am happy and I hope Hero is too

Woah !! I am all eyes and ears on this thread now ! Been reading almost everywhere that X Pulse 200 has only one issue, which is the highway touring power. Guess the 300 will take care of it. If this can cruise happily at 120 without vibes, they hit a sweet spot I guess

New spyshots of the 300 have surfaced. According to rushlane, there's a 300T version as well.

There's a very 2012 BMW R1200 GS-ish vibe going on here, and I'm loving what I'm looking at!

Re: Hero XPulse 300 & Xtreme 300S caught testing in Ladakh

I saw these bikes upclose in leh when they were being loaded into the truck, and the 300 looked more like a 400. I refused to believe that a bike that big to the eyes could be a 300.

The engine casing looked extremely well finished and was there a red trellis frame? To the point that i was wondering of this was an import being tested around here. I did see the other bikes in the back, the street versions of this model but it just didn't strike me that this could be Hero.

The guys testing the bikes did not reveal anything to me but kept pandering me about the low end torque of the 390 adventure i was riding. Does that offer much of a clue of where this bike is going to shine?

If this is indeed a 400, good times await all of us.

Apparently they are testing 2 engines, a 300 and a 421 and the adv is going to have the bigger 421 cc as per this article -

Rumour: Hero XPulse 400 ADV with 421cc engine in the works

According to a media report, Hero MotoCorp is working on a more powerful version of the XPulse ADV. It is said that the new model, dubbed XPulse 400, is likely to use a new 421cc engine.

Test mules of a Hero XPulse were recently spotted in Ladakh. At the time, it was reported that this could be the XPulse 300. However, the new report suggests that it will be based on a new chassis with a 421cc single-cylinder engine at its heart. The latter is estimated to produce around 40 BHP and 35 Nm.

It has been reported that Hero MotoCorp has been working on the XPulse 400 for quite some time. The bike is rumoured to be launched in the second half of 2023.

The Hero XPulse 400 will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS and the likes.

This is interesting news. The vlogger in the above video tries to keep up with T version at the 2.20 mark & the adv at the 4.51 mark. The test bikes seem to pull away quite easily. Could be a 400cc vehicle as speculated.

Re: Rumour: Hero XPulse 400 ADV with 421cc engine in the works

Please Hero, get up & give this hard slap to enfield as quick as possible! (Ouch, couldn't resist saying).

A practical affordable daily adv, unlike the lump of metal that RE makes. No offence to anyone, have Himalayan & xpulse 4v now, had 3 enfields in past, had impulse & 2v xpulse before the current 4v. I’ve seen the pleasure & pain to make that statement.

To me, the xpulse is more of a light weight dirt bike & I was going through reviews of Yezdi adv for past few weeks as I'm in for a highway commuter & wouldn't mind another hero in the garage hoping it'd carry the easy rider legacy of karizma which I had many. Wish hero would bring in a highway capable machine.

Cheers.
