I really hope manufacturers, especially RE which will have a global market and sell decent volumes, offer the option of alloy wheels and/or tubeless spokes with every motorcycle. You only need to have gone through the pain of a puncture on a tubeless tyre once to say never again! To make matters worse, even the spare tubes are difficult to source from RE dealers also.
Wondering how much weight-loss they could achieve with the single-sided exhaust and single pod instrument cluster. A 195 kg 650 Twin with 47 bhp should be a sweet ride, considering the J series Bullet & Classic 350 weigh 195 kg with just 20 bhp.
Like the handlebar position. Should be relaxing to drive. Is the radiator smaller ? less compression, power than Intys ?
They need to provide clean shiny paint schemes without graphics with chrome exhausts. Looks solid on big motorcycles
Hope this brings an end to the eternal wait of a 650cc RE motorycycle with a good suspension setup. This engine is so sweet but it has not yet been matched to a chassis that is equally sweet. Interceptor and GT have soft suspension setups while the Shotgun and Super Meteor are hard with minimal travel.
The black test bike looked much more neat! All that was required were alloy wheels. Overall the bike exudes a very "Mad Max" vibe!
Or is RE copying Triumph 400's new "Bumblebee" color scheme? :D
I loved this yellow paint scheme. The 2 into 1 exhaust would also save ~ 5-6kg of weight at least. And from the pics, it appears to have the Himalayan/Guerilla console which will be a first for the 650cc RE model.
I wonder - When the tubeless spoke wheels are avaiable for so cheap ~12.5k, why do they even bother with regualar spoke wheels ? I hope they have it as an option.
Just like how ABS became mandatory for 125+ cc bikes, it should be mandatory to have either alloys or tubeless spoke rims for above certain cc bikes. Safer as well as more convenient than tubed spoke rims specially now that we know it doesnt cost too much.
Hope they launch it with the option of tubeless spoke wheels too. A scrambler with alloys looks half- baked to me. Spokes are the way to go if you want of 'Scrambler' look
Royal Enfield Bear 650 scrambler to debut on November 5
Royal Enfield has announced its plans to reveal a new bike on November 5. The new model is a scrambler-style bike, dubbed the Bear 650. It is likely to be launched at Motoverse 2024.
Royal Enfield has released a teaser on social media, which shows glimpses of the new scrambler. That being said, we know what to expect as images of the Bear 650 have already leaked online.
The Bear 650 will be a more off-road-oriented version of the Interceptor 650. It will feature a classic scrambler design with a circular headlamp, a single-pod instrument console, a single-piece seat, and spoked wheels shod with knobbly tyres.
The Bear 650 will be powered by the same engine as the Interceptor. The 648cc parallel-twin engine produces 47 BHP and 52.3 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike will come equipped with an upside-down front fork and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It will feature disc brakes at both ends and a typical scrambler-style exhaust.

Are those gold forks! RE is going after the Triumphs, in both directions, Scrambler 400X and the bigger scramblers.

Nope! not a illusion, just confirmed that there is a gold fork variant with black
tanks. Another one with the frame in a green color with white tanks. RE just shared a longer 1:15 min video of the earlier teaser video with the same title. Cant seem to find it now, someone at RE media team missed the release memo :coldsweat
Here are some screen grabs. So one variant with gold forks and one with black are confirmed. The one with gold forks looks so much like a Triumph scrambler.

The EXTENSIVE 650 lineup of RE is looking like a chartbuster with the Classic, Himalayan, Bear, and Bullet's 650cc iterations and the family tree shown exactly shows it but what is the bike in the left side faired version of Continental 650 maybe?
Looks like zero panels except for the unavoidable fuel tank :coldsweat

I hope that translates to considerable weight savings over their current 650cc crop.
