Kawasaki & Toyota partner up to develop hydrogen-powered motorcycles

According to a media report, Kawasaki is said to have joined hands with Toyota to accelerate the development of hydrogen as a fuel source. It also suggests that the partnership could lead to a hydrogen-powered motorcycle sometime in the near future.

As per reports, the two Japanese giants have struck a deal to work towards accelerating hydrogen as an alternate source of fuel. The two companies will also work together to improve global infrastructure & upgrade extraction methods.

Kawasaki has long been working on introducing alternate fuel-powered vehicles, including hydrogen-powered offerings in the market. The company feels hydrogen makes a good alternative fuel source, while also helping bridge the gap while transitioning from fossil fuels to electrification.

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer is also working on electric and hybrid offerings for the future. Kawasaki recently showcased their low-displacement EV and HEV motorcycles during the Suzuki 8-hour Endurance race. The company unveiled a naked-streetfighter EV (based on its 'Z' series) and a fully-faired HEV (based on its 'Ninja' series). Production versions of both motorcycles are expected to be revealed later this year or in early 2023.

Re: Kawasaki & Toyota partner up to develop hydrogen-powered motorcycles

This news reminds me of a tamil phrase "Thevaiyilaadha aani (Unwanted nail)" , literally translated into unnecessary stuff.

Superbikes generally is useful for sports purpose and to some, long rides. Hydrogen fuel tech is a very expensive and time consuming stuff. I am not really sure how much of this makes sense to me. But again good luck to them.
