Ultraviolette has planned a phased roll-out starting with Bangalore. The company also aims to launch the F77 in Europe and the USA. It claims to have received 70,000 pre-launch booking interests from 190 countries.

The F77 will be offered in three variants: Airstrike, Shadow and Laser. The bike is said to be powered by an electric motor that has a maximum output of 33.5 BHP and 450 Nm, which enables it to accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 3.0 seconds.

The F77 is powered by Ultraviolette’s in-house battery technology. It gets features such as dual-channel ABS, adjustable suspension, multiple riding modes and regenerative braking; among others.

The Ultraviolette F77 electric motorcycle will be manufactured in Electronic City, Bangalore.

re: Ultraviolette F77 electric bike launched at Rs 3.80 lakh

Finally a lunch date after so many years now. I hope the product lives up to the expectation since they have taken a long time to develop this product, it has to live up to the hype they created till now. The pricing is expected to be around the 3L mark which makes this a niche product. With the amount of R&D investment of so many years, I hope they succeed since the fundamentals of this tech-enabled EV maker seems strong on paper.

450Nm? That’s more than twice of Triumph Rocket GT! Definitely lining up for a test ride to see how much of this tall claim is true.

Is there a separate license needed to ride these, like a super bike category with very high acceleration speeds? 450nm is too much traction in a bike, the rider needs to know how to handle it. I just hope these bikes are safe on the road. TD'ing this will also be a challenge to regular bike riders too (I guess).

It is lower performance than 390 Duke which has 44HP. Duke does 0-60 in 2.57sec.

Don't fall for marketing tactics of posting higher Torque numbers. 450 NM is wheel torque. motor torque is 90NM. Motor is rated at 33.5KW @ 2200 RPM

Acceleration cannot be defined only with torque numbers.

Ultraviolette's Battery Day 2022 where the company revealed some details about its long awaited upcoming F77 electric motorcycle.

Pre-bookings for the F77 start on Oct 23.

The chassis has been entirely redesigned since 2019, and now consists primarily of a spine section that connects the headstock to the load-bearing motor mount.

The motor mount includes a single step-down transmission, which has been tweaked since 2019 for better durability and noise levels.

The design of the swingarm has changed, as has the manufacturing method. It was originally designed to be a milled unit, but will now be a more cost-effective cast swingarm.

Ultraviolette says that as of last week, the F77's IDC range stands at 307km. It claims it will continue working to improve this number.

The production-spec F77 will employ a fixed battery pack, unlike the removable units we saw back in 2019. It now comprises 21700 Li-ion cells, as opposed to the earlier 18650 cells. This is one of the updates that was planned for the Gen 2 bike, but fast-tracked by COVID.

The decision to switch from multiple removable battery packs to one fixed battery pack was taken in order to increase range, as per Ultraviolette.

Kudos to the ACTUAL Indian EV startups like Ather and Ultraviolette for doing original, ingenious work which unlike others could make them the Indian Teslas of tomorrow.

re: Ultraviolette F77 electric bike launched at Rs 3.80 lakh

This is exciting stuff. If the vehicles actually turna out to be as well engineered as the claims being made, UV has a global winner in their hands. Beyond a handful of Chinese origin and European startups and Zero's entry level FX series, there are hardly EVs worldwide in the 25kW/300cc power bracket worldwide. All the action happens at the top (LiveWire/Zero/Energica/Daemon etc.). The F77 will fall right in the entry level premium EV segment, not just in India but worldwide.

Some screengrabs from the YouTube video below.

Same here, I prebooked mine as well. I had prebooked the Ather in 2018, got it in early 2019 and it has completely lived up to the hype. I hope this will be a worthy complement to the Ather that is still going strong!

re: Ultraviolette F77 electric bike launched at Rs 3.80 lakh

Pre-booked mine. I’m buying a motorcycle after more than two decades. I’ve been contemplating getting one of the 350 cc bikes (like a a Bullet or a Honda), but after seeing the videos of Ultraviolette I think it’s going to be a very exciting bike. Looks very promising but will wait for reviews to pour in and then a test ride before going ahead with the full purchase post November.
