Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has confirmed that the company is working on a range of electric 2-wheelers, which will be launched over the next few years. These will include commuter scooters, motorbikes and even sports bikes.

“Over the next 12 months, we will build EV products in all two-wheeler categories, like commuter scooters, motorbikes, sports bikes and more, to ensure everyone buying ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles, has a much better EV product to choose from,” Aggarwal said.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the S1 Air launch. The brand’s latest addition to the S1 range of e-scooters is priced at Rs. 79,999. It is powered by a 2.5 kWh battery pack paired with a 4.5 kW hub motor. The scooter has an IDC-certified range of 100 km in Eco mode.

I somehow feel he's trying to be all over the place. Great if Ola can be that what it aims for. However it might result in spreading itself far too thin rather than focusing on building one strong core product

Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, recently posted a poll on Twitter asking netizens about their favourite style of bike. Out of Sports, Cruiser, Adventure and Café Racer, 47% voted for the first option.

Aggarwal had also revealed that the company was developing an electric motorcycle earlier this year. He had stated that the bike would be launched around March 2023.

Now, the details of the product itself are still unknown. However, the latest round of tweets by the CEO do hint at a performance-oriented electric sports bike.

I hope he tells us what he will NEVER do instead
Why not an Auto ?

Doesnt look like he needs money from the well established model(s) to invest and build newer ones.

From the looks of the tweet. Bhavish is trying to do a-la Elon Musk and Manu Kumar Jain (ex-CEO , Xiaomi India) , that is setting fire via a hype. Or perhaps he could intimidated by the introduction or Ultraviolette Electric performance bike.

Ola electric business model does emulate the likes of Xiaomi in some way, but again I am quite sure that this hyping up and creating unreal expectations doesn't bode well for the company. I still stand with the fact that the EV space in India is at a nascent stage. I just hope some sense prevails in him to focus on having a stable two wheeler line up in existence.

Mods, please feel free to let me know if the post had anything unnecessary.

Re: Ola Electric to offer a range of electric motorcycles in the future

Is twitter the new form of market research..? And if market research is unnecessary like what companies like tesla is doing, you should better have a good product to back up your claims. I would rather suggest bhavish to spend some time and money to rectify or re-engineer the fronk forks of the s series scooter to restore customer confidence. A well engineered product is much much better than a series of products with frequent problems. Bad for the company and headache for the consumer.

In 2023 and 2024, Ola will launch many more 2W EV products – a mass market scooter, a mass market motorcycle, and multiple premium motorcycles (sports, cruisers, adventure and road bikes).

The teaser features five models with distinct designs. The range includes an adventure bike, a cruiser, a sports bike, a neo-retro bike and a commuter. That being said, all models appear to be in their concept phase, and we may not see some of the models reach production.

Ola hasn’t revealed any timeline for the launch of its electric motorcycles. Technical details like the motor output and battery performance are still unknown.

Electric Adventure bike is just an oxymoron to me!

We still have to carry petrol jerry cans when going on 'adventure' rides to parts of Himalayas. Can't imagine standing in a queue in Nubra valley waiting to charge my electric ADV
