All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

Bajaj Auto has announced the launch of the all-new Pulsar P150. The bike is available in two variants: single-disc and twin-disc, priced at Rs 1,16,755 and Rs 1,19,757 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Pulsar P150 is based on the next-gen Pulsar platform that was introduced in October 2021. The bike now features a sharper, sportier design and an underbelly exhaust. The single-disc variant offers an upright riding position, while the twin-disc variant has a sportier stance and comes with a split seat.

The Pulsar P150 is powered by a new 149.68cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 14.3 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 13.5 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Bajaj claims that 90% of the torque is available across the usable RPM range. The bike weighs 10 kg less than its predecessor, which is said to translate to an 11% increase in the power-to-weight ratio.

The P150 comes with a conventional telescopic fork suspension at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by 260 mm and 230 mm discs at the front and rear respectively, while the lower variant gets a 130 mm drum at the rear.

Re: All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

I thought they discontinued the old 150 model, but no it still exists. I am bit surprised that they have 4 150-160cc Pulsar models. Quite confusing.

Edit: I cannot see Discover in Bajaj's lineup. Is it discontinued ?

The real Discover was long gone but some 100-110cc iteration keeps coming back for 3-6 month sale stint once in a while.

The old Pulsar 150 has been their cash cow and Bajaj doesn't have the guts to retire it. In fact they launched its 125cc carbon edition few days ago.

Does this remind anyone of the erstwhile Pulsar LS135? It sure does to me.

For Bajaj : Please don't expect sales on this design. Not a looker IMO.

If they continued the N250 headlight on this, it would atleast compete with the MT-15 in the engine displacement and design category. Might as well milk a little bit of sales from MT's prospective customers just because of the price difference and about loss of 4HP. It's a city bike, so anything above 13HP is sufficient.

Those skinny tires just add to the non-looker attribute of this one. The previous ones were better IMO.

Re: All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

I think its high time Bajaj removed the 'Pulsar' name from all the bikes and stick to just the suffix (P125, P150, P160, NS160, RS200 etc). It has diluted the Pulsar brand to a large extent now. Back in the day Pulsar stood for being fast, powerful and macho. Now, there is a Pulsar for everyone with just thicker or thinner tires and engine specs. It creates a problem for someone looking for unique identity.

Re: All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

They have too many 150-160-180 models .All near to each other. And this looks similar to the ls135 like another member pointed out here. Looks meh ,n160,pulsar160 all at nearby rates. What's the point of this model if it's to be discontinued sooner or later like any of their umpteen past models( V15,many of the original discover series, pulsar adventure AS)

Re: All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

It's sad to see how Bajaj have managed to dilute a model which had bigger recall than the parent company.
Pulsar used to be the benchmark and most desired performance bike for the common man in India. With so many iterations and lack of vision for the badge, it's now just another bike. There is no market excitement for any launch under the Pulsar badge any more.

This new design is not doing justice to Pulsar 150. IMHO this Pulsar is looking like next generation Bajaj XCD. (XCD was a motorcylce from Bajaj which was sold somewhere between the year 2007~2010).

That's the pulsar 125. True, it's resemblance to the new Pulsar has been pointed out by others as well.

This bike doesn't do justice to the Pulsar nameplate. They've destroyed the Pulsar legacy. And talking about this design, in my opinion it looks like a Discover 125ST

Re: All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

What was the point of launching this bike P150 when you already have N160 & NS160 along with old Pulsar 150.

Gone are the days when Pulsar name plate used to evoke desirability.

I was having a casual discussion on bikes with the younger lot in my family & none of them seemed remotely interested in a Pulsar since they don't find them interesting enough.

Bajaj should stop further dilution of this iconic name plate & at least move all these old models to a separate name plate (say Discover, Classic etc.) if they still see merit in selling them.

Re: All-new Bajaj Pulsar P150 launched at Rs 1.17 lakh

For a change, I like this new Pulsar from Bajaj. It looks like they introduced an all-new P150 after 20 years of minor updates and sticker jobs.

The clutter-free design and mechanical updates give the bike a clean look (monoshock + underbelly exhaust for example) and removes some of the visual fatigue of the old model. Also liked the fact that they have not gone for a rear tyre hugger for the sake of it.

I think this will be a good seller. May be the weight reduction has helped improved the fuel efficiency as well? It should be a deciding factor for the target audience, no?

Not sure if the pricing is competitive enough though as I am completely out of touch with the Indian motorcycle market.

Have anyone in the forum ridden it. Want to know how it holds up after crossing 80 and how the vibrations are there.
