This Honda bike may displace Splendor from its position. This bike is surely going to be the most fuel efficient bike on offer, it's going to breach all milestones. It will easily cross 100kmpl on hyper milling.

E20 complaint -should mean a more durable and more fuel efficient engine. I think most bikes nowadays return low fuel efficiency numbers due to current e5/10 petrol. This should do well with the currently available petrol I feel.

Re: Honda Shine 100 launched at Rs 64,900

Finally, the mandated Non-Compete clause mandated by the court is over and Honda can launch any products in 80-100 cc Category.

The real fight between Hero and Honda starts now. Till date, Hero had an advantage with their Honda provided engines. Now, with Honda in the game, things gonna change. Expecting some serious investment in advertising from Honda, to grab as much share from Hero as possible.

It clearly looks like, Honda had been working on this product for some time. a 99 cc Shine? The shine platform clearly is stable till 70Kmph and loses traction after that. This product is using shine's frame clearly is preplanned.

Re: Honda Shine 100 launched at Rs 64,900

After a close look at the bike in sone of the walkaround videos on youtube, I had an observation:

This bike looks exactly like the now discontinued Dream Neo & the current CD110 Dream albiet without the rear carrier thing.
I'm like 99% sure it shares the same exact body panels, lights, instrument console etc.
Even looking at the engine it looks the same, so it's just the Honda 110cc engine with a change in bore/stroke.

Smart move or just the usual laziness of HMSI & taking the indian market for granted?

The first ride reviews are pouring in now. Seems like this bike will pose quite some challenge to the Splendor and be an overall no-nonsense VFM 100cc commuter. If I were to ever replace my CD100, this bike would be my pick.
