Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Interceptor & Continental GT 650 launched

We've gone so long without alloys, I don't mind waiting another year tbh. But one thing I feel to be missed here is the new tubeless tyres being put strangely only on the Gt650s. Verdestein Centauro ST for our odd sized r18s! Seems like a very promising option.

650 twins come with spoked wheels

People on tbhp: why won't RE give us alloys

650 twins come with alloys

People on tbhp: why did RE take so long to give alloys, what if alloys break

While no other manufacturer even sells an affordable twin cylinder bike, RE should get brickbats for everything. Damned if they do and damned if they don't

The alloys do feel out of place. I see why people want or prefer them over spoked wheels. The much talked about flat tire situation and less spoken about cleaning, which is a easier with these alloys.

The blacked out exhausts and engine casing do look the part. They don't pop out in these pictures. I had seen the Anniversary Edition and was drooling over the excellent matte paint job on these parts.

I am interested in what they did with the seat, more than anything else. Better switchgear, LED headlamp are nice and sounds like they have been listening to feedback. Just took them a while to implement.

The 2023 edition of the Interceptor and Continental GT was launched earlier this month. Both bikes get a few updates, which include a new seat, a USB charging port, new switchgear and an LED headlamp.

Royal Enfield has also introduced new colour schemes for the 650 Twins. The Interceptor is offered in Black Ray & Barcelona Blue as well as a Cali Green and a dual-tone shade called Black Pearl. The Continental GT comes in Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey. Both models get a blacked-out engine, exhaust and alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres.

Powering the 650 Twins is the same 647.95cc, twin-cylinder engine which is now OBD-2 compliant. It makes 47 BHP @ 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm @ 5,150 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Interceptor & Continental GT 650 launched

Hi team bhp,

I bought a used interceptor 650 in 1st week of Feb 2023. The previous owner had changed the tyres to MRFs.

The front is running tubed tyre and rear one is tubeless though. The tyres doesn't inspire much confidence. I was exploring tubeless conversion kit before. Now that the new bikes coming out with factory fitted tubeless and alloys. Looking at that direction also. I don't particularly hate the new alloy setup.
Any idea, how long should I have to wait for the alloys to be retrofitted?
Any idea on estimated cost for both front/rear alloys and tyres?

Alloys could take anywhere from 3-6 months to be made available as spare parts(going by Hunter 350 launch).
According to a SA at a company owned showroom I talked to, it could range anywhere from 13k-16k for the pair. Although I think this was just his best guess.
