I get the feeling when your bike doesn't meet expectations, it's a bad place to be in.
I ride a KTM adventure, have ridden himalayan extensively also have ridden vstrom's quite a lot as we have 3 in our ride group.
In general the vstrom has a good rear suspension setup atleast for heavy riders but all of the three bikes in our group we have reduced 1) the preload to minimum try that 2) Reduce tyre pressure may be 2 psi
3) check the chain tension lube it with gear oil as I have found that in Vstrom if chain is loose it makes a lot of noise/rattle
4) check the chain guide rubber on top of swingarm
5) check swing arm bushes
I totally agree with the SVC being non supportive they do the regular service and and further issues we cant expect much. One of the earliest bikes which now has around 15k had a left pulling issue after multiple visit to multiple SVC issue remained unsolved. Then we took ot our own hands went to my friends garage the cone set was gone replaced that and did a fork overhaul issue was solved.
One more suggestion is in bad patches like the clip try standing up on pegs(saddling), take the bumps through your legs that will make you more comfortable . I am no expert in offroading, but thats what I do in bad patches, people with more experience please pitch in if wrong. |
Bro, can you elaborate the Fork Overhaul? Did you get it alligned in lathe machine? It will be very helpful if can explain in details how you got it resolved. Because I have recently purchased this bike and facing left pulling issue.

Hi,
There might be 2 reasons 1. The front tyre- simple fix refit it and make sure the tyre beeding is fitting into alloy edges properly
2. The cup-cone set, if you know a FNG who has experience working on forks, remove the forks inspect the triple tree cup-cone set. There shouldn't be any indents or lines on the bearing or the cup on. If there is any, change them. If you manage a new set from Vstrom well and good else think the suzuki Hayate/slingshot ones also are the same.

Hello Sir,
I see you have checked almost everything to find the cause of the issue, while watching your video I feel something is restricting the movement of spring, my suggestion may look illogical but find 2 healthy guys well over 100kg make them sit on bike while you observe the bike closely ask them to jump a little, hope this help in someway.
Would strongly echo aviator1101's purview of thoughts. Reading your posts, since I missed following your thread. Though you've done everything you can to cater to both your mind and the machine but to no avail and as you've rightly stated, the only thing left to replace is the swingarm itself. The other aspect of it could also be uneven or a bent axle which can and will cause tractability issues, especially if the aligners are out of sync, but that's anyone's guess at this juncture.
Would recommend you to replace your swingarm and rear axle and check the bearing slots of the wheels themselves for any unduly play. With nothing more left on the aft of the bike for inspection, it's about time you deep-dive and make an informed decision of either sticking or parting away with the bike. Primarily not because the bike has issues, but in the hope that better sense prevails after so that you are at peace.
Good luck to you though.
Cheers!

I purchased mine in December. So I have owned one for three months. In my experience the ride quality is quite good. If anything the front is too soft. I will be shifting to a more viscous fork oil after the first fork oil change. However, most of the issues mentioned by the OP wasn't apparent for me. I had taken a test drive of a fair few bikes including the Street 400, Standard 350, CB300F, CB200X, CB350 and a few others. From the start I adored the strom. She had tremendous low end grunt and for me that was the first priority. I'm not a fast rider but prefer lower gear changes in city rides. With the baby strom I just plonk it in second or third and it goes from whatever speed.
I did take her offroad a few times. Last time I tried I ended up breaking my writ from a rather nasty fall. While the bike is terrible off the road in comparison to the expulse, it does have softroadability due to the torque curve and the basic setup. Standing up and riding is hard though since the knees go past the tank in that position and I end up with no connection at knee to tank.
But in all, I'm very happy with the purchase. Maybe you got a lemon, maybe you expected too much from the bike or maybe this wasn't your fit. In any case swallow the loss and sell it off. It makes no sense to hold on to the lady.
Hi all,
So back in the month of March I booked Suzuki Vstorm SX via a multi dealer (not Suzuki showroom). I was getting a very good price. I was promised the delivery in the first week of April. The dealer asked to make the almost full payment in advance since that's the reason he was able to get such a hefty discount. But the delivery kept getting delayed. I finally asked to deliver it on Akshay Tritiya which was on the 10th May. He had promised to deliver in the noon. But he didn't do anything until my friend, who had suggested this guy, called him up. By then it was already too late and the bike be would coming by night only. Fed up, I asked him to cancel the booking altogether. However, he keeps saying that the company has already allotted the vehicle in my name and now the booking cannot cancelled.
From what I know, all bookings can be cancelled even till the time of delivery. I'm still insisting on the refund and thankfully my friend is an advocate too.
But still I want to know what are my options here. Is it really not possible to cancel the booking? Can I reach out to Suzuki directly to get this sorted?
