Planning to contrast.
Hence the decision.

Pipes would be in brushed / matte finish.
Contrast heat wrap on headers.

Hopefully I would stop at that, and after all that I have already mentioned above.

Another update on the app.
Nothing from the dealer.

I just hope it does not take so long...

re: Fast Single to a Smooth Twin | KTM Adventure 390 to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

20 days since booking the INT 650 Black Ray via MIY with accessories.
The dealer still claims, he has no idea about the dispatch, or tentative date of delivery.

Wondering why does Royal Enfield take so much pride in calling themselves a global brand, when their local operations are so poor.

re: Fast Single to a Smooth Twin | KTM Adventure 390 to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Finally!

After plenty of following up, the bike has now arrived at the dealership.
Will go for a PDI in the day. Did get a quick look at night, but the dealer was shutting down so did not hold them up.

re: Fast Single to a Smooth Twin | KTM Adventure 390 to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Guess who's the happiest man, at least in my part of the world...

Some changes to the accessories I selected:
-Brace Pad (Not available)
-2 Key Rings (Same, but in different colour)
-Black Sump Guard (Had decided for silver before)

The front fly screen, the alignment is a bit off. I will work on this myself.
PDI was satisfactory.
There was a little paint damage on the exhaust main pipe, below the rear brake. But I will fix this.
Stock mirrors, the point where they are mounted, LHS had some paint chip on the mounting point. But this again, I will fix myself.

This has been a heart over mind purchase.
Once you fire it up, even with the stock system, it's pure old school motorcycling.
First service is surely going to happen within a week.

Re: Fast Single to a Smooth Twin | KTM Adventure 390 to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

So this black, it is going to take a lot of efforts to maintain. Sunday morning, my riding jackets' reverse zipper caused some scratches on the tank. Was so heartbroken, went riding down straight to the detailers shop after the ride.

Got graphene coating done, just for some mental peace. Hope it lasts, and protects the paint overall. All major visible scratches are now gone. I also have a Turtle Wax graphene spray, I will use it monthly, just to maintain the shine.

The damage to the bank is not done yet...
Will fit these after the first service.

Also going to get a custom leather tank strap / cover. So This jacket scratching issue does not reoccur. I know this strap / cover can cause some marks, leave dust stains, but then, I can just get it detailed and the graphene should provide some protection.

350 kms done, planning to get the first service done ASAP.

Even I am anti-ppf on my motorcycle.
Even on my car, I had it only on the wing mirrors.

Now this one, is by Sahara Seats.
They have more options too.
But the asking price is so low, that the craftsmanship isn't very aesthetically pleasing.

I am meeting a guy tomorrow, he runs Tanners Pride (Check their socials). I am hoping I can show him this image for reference, and then he can make one for me which looks better, and does the job I want it to. I would also request for magnets below apart from the tie straps, so the magnets also keep the cover in place and reduces scuff marks.

Samples from Tanners Pride shown to me:

Re: Fast Single to a Smooth Twin | KTM Adventure 390 to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

So the custom weaved magnetic tank protector should arrive in less than a week, hopefully. I can then take it off easily every time I wish to detail the bike, or give it a deep wash. On basic quick washes, it can be left on. Have ordered 2, so in case someone steals it, I have a spare.

But today, I got this fixed on my Black Ray Interceptor 650.
Side panel leather pouch. Looks dope. This was not even on my mind.
It is from Tanners Pride. He just put it up to show me, and then I kept it on because it looked great.

Re: Fast Single to a Smooth Twin | KTM Adventure 390 to Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Congrats. It looks so nice in the colour scheme.

I am tempted to give rest to my ADV dreams and get an INT for its smooth twin engine, value for money package and looks. Even though from different segments, can you compare INT with KTM 390 ADV for city and touring? Thanks

The colour is called Black Ray, and I think this itself sounds good. No?

No real comparison between the two. Both are poles apart in character.
If you really wish to enjoy some fast long distance touring, then the KTM would best suit your needs.

If you are seeking a relaxed & retro state of mind, then the INT 650.
The weight difference between the two cannot be ignored under any circumstance.
From my ADV moving to this, here are the things I would miss

1. Trip time calculator, with average speed
2. Range & mileage information
3. Gear position indicator

Beautiful color and a high maintenance one too.

Wish RE offered alloy wheels option/model to other low maintenance colors too.
