Right. That is why I have bought magnets (stronger ones than used by Rynox & Viaterra) separately. prima facie, these are quite powerful and bag is not moving while on tank. However will update after a longer ride in Mid Feb.

I would still urge you to use a cloth under the tank bag. If your tank has paint protection film, then it should be ok to some extent. Otherwise there will definitely be scuff marks in long run like on my tank.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

I have never had the stalling issue but many people in the local WhatsApp group have had it. A few who got the latest update from this week have ridden and confirmed that the stalling issue has been completely fixed. They have tested 50-60km and didnt stall at all. Those who face stalling should go get the update ASAP.

This issue is prevalent in many BS6 bikes because of strict emissions requirements needing the ECU to maintain a very fine balance. Hell, I think some Gen 2 Duke 390s still have the stalling issue and the new Himalayan is also rumoured to have it, so I am pleasantly surprised to see that Triumph have fixed this issue in a reasonable timeframe.

If anyone here has personally had stalling and this fix helps them, please do share your reviews.

I have faced stalling issue before the update. The updates seems to resolve this issue. It's been 19 days since they updated the software. I haven't faced this issue since then.

Basically the idle rpm has been raised in first few gears is what I feel. Helps to ride the bike faster as well.

That was done in the update I got in November. However it didn't solve the problem. The latest update seems to have solved it though.

I'll find out tomorrow once I get the update.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

Last Saturday, I was passing by Keerthi Triumph Richmond Road and I just entered into the showroom to enquire about Speed 400 RSA as I was been told at the time of delivery that RSA will be available after few months.
They are providing the RSA now for Speed 400 vehicles and they are charging Rs.4000/- for 2 years tenure.
Has anyone already purchased the RSA from Keerthi or any other dealers? Just want to cross check the price with other members.

Between Jan 12 and 20th, I rode down to Chennai and back. During the upward trip, I experienced stalling twice. In traffic. It was when I took a speed bump in the second gear.

I'd had the software flashed around the second or third weekend of December.

On the return, I didn't experience the stalling even once.

I guess things improve with time.

For the record, I’ve clocked 3,3xx KM.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

There is an ECU update that was released around 2nd week of Jan which is supposed to fix the stalling. I have ridden around 100 km after getting it and I haven't experienced the stalling and the bike has become a tad smooth.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

I went to get the ECU update yesterday, along with replacement the Speed 400 clutch cable and front brake hose with Scrambler 400X parts, necessitated by my installation of pullback risers.

My bike stalled in first gear when I was going down the extremely steep incline of the ASC, which is located in the basement below Riya Triumph's showroom. I somehow managed to not topple over, as I had slid on to the tank with my legs near the front axle due to the jerk from front brake application and the angle. The bike also wouldn't restart immediately and it was a scary 5-7 seconds. It would have been bad had I lost balance. My service advisor saw all of this happen, and acknowledged it.

Anyway, the bike is back after the work, but I haven't been able to ride it to test the solution. However, feedback from the WhatsApp riders' group is almost uniformly positive.

Part replacement cost me Rs. 2,794 (1936 parts + 858 labour).
