Words like beta tests and POVs are used in a very frivolous manner these days. Thrown far away from what their definition is. Anyway, I digress. If being an apparent beta tester is your issue, then settle for the Honda. Not as good as the x440 on most parameters but at least you will know everything about the bike.

Keerthi has a choice of Iffco Tokio or New India. What about Khivraj?
Khivraj is offering only bajaj Allianz. I never took insurance through dealers ever since my first polo. All my ex triumphs and current GS are with oriental and they are giving pretty good deals.

Hearty congratulations! Looking forward to the pictures.
How many days did they take after the full payment and which color did you go for? I made my full payment to Shaman Andheri for my blue Speed on 10 Sept and now waiting with bated breath for their call.

Thanks and sure! Planning a small ride this weekend, will post some pics here.

The full payment was done on 30th, so it roughly took them ~12 working days for the Red color. I got my Insurance details last week on Friday, and the RTO registration confirmation came in this Monday.

I had originally booked Black, but didn’t like it when I saw it in person. The two-shade black-grey looks weird.

I find it amusing that I'm not even from Bangalore but I now know Keerthi Triumph by name on account of their horror stories all over tBHP.

Seriously guys, avoid this dealership already... I know it's easy for me to say, sitting here in Gujarat, but they seem like devils who are hell bent on messing up your purchasing and ownership experience.

I’ve already made the full payment, and can’t avoid them now. At least till delivery. After that I might switch to Khivraj for servicing, and also even for buying accessories.

Thanks mate! So that means I still have a long way to go before I get a call from them. I even went ahead with their provided standard insurance (with zero-dep add-on) just to ensure that everything happens smoothly at their end. I'm only worried about the potential delay at RTO due to the holidays next week!

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

Hey guys. Can anyone provide any photo of the documental proof of 5 years warranty with the delivery of their Speed 400?

I need it to show to the One Triumph guy to argue for the same. Got to say they are being really difficult. They are so overwhelmed with everyday deliveries they have no idea what’s going on. Can’t really blame them because it has been an unprecedented response from the market and they never dealt with such volumes, they are understated and overburdened. But it’s really spoiling my delivery experience.

Himanshu, antz.bin has posted the above in post number 755, hope it helps.

Please do not make justifications for the dealer because they have received an unprecedented response. They should have done their homework, be happy for the response and ensured appropriate staffing. It’s their job, we don’t ask for a further discount because the response is high and they will make more money, do we?

Cheers

I agree with you on that. The team is simply not equipped to deal with such volumes and the General Manager there is extremely lazy and ineffective. He just sits on his chair all day and is a complete failure when it comes to managing the limited staff they have. Absolutely lame. Bajaj-Triumph should’ve delayed the launch to be honest, instead of making the whole experience a big joke. It has seriously made me rethink my affection towards Triumph, I’ll think twice before buying a big Triumph in the future. I hope it gets better in the future with more dealers, especially since it won’t always remain this good of a deal.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

It does loook like Triumph hasnt achieved the 10000 mark, I got a message that I need to complete the purchase by Sep 15 or else the 10K discount will be transfered to someone in the first 10K list.

I havent taken a test ride yet as I do not want to be tempted. My current ride is a Highness and I think the two bikes are quite comparable with each having strengths in different areas. For me, the one area that the Highness absolutely scores is ergonomics, you can do hours on the saddle without any kind of load on arms, shoulders etc (I cycle long distance brevets so seat is hardly an issue for me). What tempts me about the Triumph is the ability to hold a slightly higher speed on the highway but that is something of a double edged sword and I can see myself being comfortable with a cruising speed of 80-90 in the future which the highness handles with ease.

In addition to what ants.bin posted, I also managed to get the detailed T&Cs version of the extended warranty after asking for it. Posted here:

Same thought process. From brevet, to hness, to highway speed to 10k discount sms!

Just on one note. I did take the test ride. 400 is one step ahead in every department. The bike is much lighter, more responsive in both handling/throttle. Not sure about vibration at higher rpm.

I am waiting for all this tamasha to get over. Another 6 months? Then based on the feedback on khivraj ASS will take a call.

Heard a lot of stories about Keerthi...May be time for a book called "101 ways to screw up your customer's life - The Triumph Way!"

Already showed One Triumph staff(Pranav and Raghav) the screen shot of 3 years extended warranty during the Sunday ride they organised a week back. Their reply was that they don't have any official communication from Triumph on this yet.
