This is quite high, the Noida dealer is offering at a substantial difference and will do registration in NCR. Suggest you check with them directly.

I don't think road tax for Gurugram or Delhi NCR is 10% or is it ?
They told ex showroom in Gurugram includes state tax which comes out to 2,63,800.

RTO and temp registration charges: 23,104
New registration charges/ postal fee / smart card fee: 1172

Logistics: 1500

These are the mandatory charges dealer is quoting now. Problem is in both Delhi and NCR there is same dealer only.

Regarding logistics charges they are saying earlier company included this in ex showroom price but now it is a company notification to get it from customer and said same the company had posted on Instagram (which I couldn't find, will ask for link).

I find this very bad of the dealer to try to make profits by quoting silly excuses. SA is saying “it is just 1500 rupees what is the issue?”

Can anyone in Gurugram/Delhi confirm if they have recently purchased a Scrambler 400x or Speed 400 and if they have paid these charges. I know that many would provide these as they would be full of emotions during buying the bike. But if I were buying this I would have not gone with the purchase because we have to deal with same dealer for service as well. If this is mentality before selling then how would be the after sales service from this dealer.

This new image you posted has the total on road price to be almost 3.18L (Against the 3.24L as per previous image) which IMO seems about right.

This is also close to the excel sheet pic posted above your post which is 3.15L.

I think 3.18L is ok. I understand the annoyance of paying even 2-3k more but see if you can get a cheaper insurance from the dealer himself if they don't budge on the handling/logistics charges.

Anyway, I’ll wait for NCR owners on this forum to confirm their on-road cost of the bike.

Cheers.

Both have their cons. Pick your poison. Do regular followups and do not let up.

Re: Triumph Scrambler 400 X Review

Any owners or someone who's taken a test ride and is around 170cm, how's the bike to handle in traffic, parking and off road situations? How does it compare to the 390 ADV in this aspect?

I own the 400X (I’m well under 170 cms - 162 cms to be precise) and find it very nimble to handle around the city. In fact it’s my steed of choice when I’m getting into super crowded areas like Bandra etc on weekends.

I don’t have a benchmark with the 390 ADV but what I recall from my single brief test ride of the KTM is that handling wise in traffic they should be very similar since the KTM is pretty light too, although the 390 is a bit taller than the Scram.

If you’re inexperienced, the tall height of these bikes could take some getting used to but I’ve not had any issues so far, both solo as well as with a pillion.

Hey! I had taken a TR of this bike twice for good 15 mins each. I am 168 cms and can say with conviction that the handling is impressive. It's light and flickable, which is important for city traffic. Managing the bike with my height is pretty easy.

I have parked only at the showroom parking, so cant comment a lot on real life situations, however it takes a bit of time getting used to, since you cant flat foot in this height range. I also felt that pulling up the side stand from parked position needs a little precision and habit.

Lastly, no offroad situations encountered, but took it over really broken patches of road and speed breaker strips, and the suspensions didnt break a sweat.

PS - Haven't ridden the 390 ADV, my opinions are in isolation.

I have only ever heard poor things about Keerthi. It wouldn't hurt to give Khivraj a chance.

Khivraj helped with a Carburettor problem on my 2014 Pulsar 200NS when no one else was able to fix it. All of this was done for free. I have had a positive experience with Khivraj. Though it is to be seen how their Triumph dealerships and service centres do.

Re: Triumph Scrambler 400 X Review

Hey! I took the delivery of 400x on 18th February from Khivraj, Whitefield. I received the Registration number on 20th Feb.

I checked the status of the number plate and saw the below two status

1. Dealer Registration - APPLICATION PENDING AT NEW-RC-VERIFICATION AT BENGALURU EAST RTO (KA-3)

2. RC Print (HSRP) - RC Print Pending on 20-Feb-2024 12:15:57 by user Pending

What does this mean? Is something pending from the dealership end or the RTO?

Do I need to follow up with Khivraj?

Yup, the dealer will call you for pictures of the HSRP and the VIN which are to be uploaded in the RTO portal by them.

Re: Triumph Scrambler 400 X Review

Could anyone suggest affordable handguards with all metal encasing other than barkbusters (10k)? I see plenty of local ones on Amazon. Any original brand around 5k budget?
Or even good quality local makes will do. Himalayan 450 rally handguards are yet to arrive.

Thank you. Followed up with the dealer and got the license plate. Provided the HSRP and VIN photos.

+1

I dropped my bike while parking at an angle. The right handguard and the brake lever broke. Looking for alternative handguards with metal encasing as well.

Re: Triumph Scrambler 400 X Review

Today, I returned from a short city ride and parked the bike at home when I noticed green liquid (I guess coolant?) leaking from the bike. I checked on YouTube and saw couple of videos with the same issue but most of them had just returned after 1st service. The response the service center had given to the guys on the videos was that excess coolant were filled. In my case, the odo stands at 870 kms and yet to complete my 1st service.

Should I be concerned about this issue? Should I take the bike to the service center right away or wait till the first service to highlight the issue?

Attaching pics of the leak.

There have been instances like yours as well I.e. this issue coming up even before the 1st service. This is due to coolant being overfilled from the factory itself or before pre-delivery check ups by service personnel (if they do it).

Take it to the service center and get the excess coolant removed by the mechanics there. Might as well get the first service done at the same time since you are at 870 kms and trip to the service center will take it ~900 ? Seems like a proper time for 1st service anyway unless you are ok to have 2 trips to the service center - once for the coolant reduction and then later for 1st service.
