Plan B can be to ride to Chandigarh, get the alloys fitted, ride to Spiti and Ladakh while you're at it, and test them too! Win-win! Woohoo!

Bnagalore, maverick motors they have it in stock! Much more easier to come here rather than going to chandigarh Saw this update in the group this morning, you can probably call them up and ask them to save it for you!

Much easier to wait for a stock here.

On totally different note. Opened up REs official app and went to the service history section. There I found an interesting report called "Vehicle Health Card".

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review-screenshot_20250428_191348_adobe-acrobat.jpg

My vehicle had failed on two parameters - Magneto Side - Intake Manifold Pressure, Injection Timing. This was uploaded during the 1000 kilometres service. After this service histories are there but no Health reports uploaded. Anybody else have a report uploaded like this?

Vehicle is at 4000 kilometres now and absolutely runs fine with no errors on the console. Any insights on the above error?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Just a few updates:
  1. After reaching 1000 km, I went on my first long drive (300 km). It was an absolute joy to ride (except the fact - I still had to vary the speed/RPM frequently and take more breaks than usual - as per the break-in period guidelines up to 2000 km)

  2. I noticed slight vibrations occasionally on the right foot peg and sometimes at the edge of the passenger seat. This happened while riding between 90 and 100 km/h. For 95% of the ride duration i did not feel any vibrations and quite happy about that.

  3. During this trip, I observed that the fuel gauge still showed full even after riding 200 km. In fact, the range dropped only slightly—from 342 km to 339 km—even after another 50 km of riding. Is this a known issue, or should I get it checked at the service station?

Except for this one issue with the fuel gauge, the ride was really enjoyable. My first service at the company service station also went quite well.

This option itself is not visible in my app! Very strange indeed.

.
Did you get any clue on this fuel gauge thing?
I picked up a HIM450 the last week and going through the break in period and noticed the same fuel guage issue, I did a full tank and the ODO is now at 250km but the guage didn’t drop a single bar.

Also guys, I observe this right side pulling issue when I let go both hands. Is this normal?

Every Himalayan has this issue. The fuel gauge drops 1 bar after 150-200 kilometres of driving and the remaining bars drop very soon thereafter. Must be a calibration issue. I usually reset the trip meter after refill and re-fuel every 200-250 kilometres.

The right side pulling issue can be sorted by re-torquing engine mounting bolts to 45 NM torque. If OE crash guard is attached then right side(only crash guard mounting bolt) alone should be torqued to 60 NM and the rest at 45 NM. This solution was confirmed by Autocar India.

Already have ordered one with a family member in the US. Can't wait to try it out. Based on the reviews so far, the product is a robust one.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Finally got time to fit pulsar N160/N250 mirrors. It's a straight fit. Visibility is excellent. Rs 966 for both mirrors from bajaj service centre. The mirrors package comes with chrome directional adapters which are unnecessary. Just remove the adapters and screw on the mirror thread directly onto the stock Himalayan mount. Right side clockwise and left side anti clockwise. The Bajaj part numbers are JR231612 left, JR231613 right. I was trying to procure the ktm 390 adv 2025 mirrors that are spring damped. Checked in 2 3 ktm service centres but they are not available. Moreover the ktm ones are not a straight fit and require hacks as per a youtube video. Hence went for these pulsar ones. Vibration at 90 kmph is no worse than the stock RE mirrors and the visibility is like 2x more.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

Hi All,

I'm planning to go for tappet/valve clearance check during my 5th service. Can anyone tell me what would be the estimated cost for the procedure?

Has anyone tried a 150/70 R17 tyre on the H450? Any reviews?

Thanks
