I think Honda Big Wing in Hyderabad is not receiving bikes similar to other parts of the country. They hardly did 4 deliveries in the last 2 months and are sighting Jan as timeline for remaining deliveries. I have been waiting for 2months now

I am just from north Thailand after a 6-day 1800 KMs ride on some of the beautiful roads with a rental NX500. I was split between CB500X and NX500 and I opted for the latter for two reasons: 1) obviously it's newer and expected to be better 2) I am considering this as my next bike if I make up my mind about spending that much on a bike.

Anyway, the ride was mostly on curvy roads with some straight as well as winding 4 lane highways, and some adventure (courtesy, Google maps and my own oversight). I couldn't have asked for more from a bike. It behaved fantastically well. The plus side, I didn't find it difficult at all to adjust from my CB350 even considering the bigger front wheel. But the biggest bonus was, which will solve my pet-peeve of CB350, the seat comfort. I was riding every day for 6 days and riding at least 260 KMS a day and absolutely no pain in the butt at all. On my H'ness, I would resort to stand up riding and all that circus after a 400 or 500 kms in a two-day trip. The light weight also meant; I was well within my comfort limit to overcome a tricky situation which I have captured in the last photo here.

Here are some photos of the bike I took. The third one is when I had ended up with a flat-tyre (last of the three punctures I had in the 24 hours prior to that). And the fourth is the one that made me question the whole idea of the trip but also made me appreciate the decision to go for the NX500 instead of an Africa Twins, which I was tempted about in the beginning.

I hope you had fun! I spent two weeks riding in Northern Thailand earlier this year. Your pics reminded of the experience I had on the Mae Hong Son loop. Smooth tarmac, curvy roads with little to no traffic at that time of the year (April 2024).

Honda has so many excellent motorcycles on sale in Thailand.

I rode down solo to Pune to meet a few old friends riding from Ahmedabad to IBW Goa. Rode back with literally hundreds of riders along the way. What a sight it was and what a way to get back to riding after 7 years.

The bike performed flawlessly.

Hi Everyone,

Bought my Nx500 in April this year, covered 7000kms since then.

I too faced a lot of wind buffeting issue with the stock windscreen - it was so bad that it blurred my vision post 85-90 kph.

Then I bought a pro-spec windshield extender and it worked well to reduce 75% of the buffeting. But it also drastically reduced the air flow coming to the rider and was coming directly in my field of vision.

Next I bought a short windshield from WRS, Italy. With this the buffeting is 98% gone, it has good flow of air to keep me cool, there is no wind blast on the chest and shoulders just a little towards the helmet and personally I like the looks of the bike better with this windshield.

Ride Update !!!

Recently rode from Thane (Maharashtra) to Badami (Karnataka) & back along with few friends, Happy to mention that my bike performed exceptionally well

It's a very well-sorted easy-to-live with bike with decent power for long rides including some spirited sprints in between.

I could cruise easily at highway speeds covering a total of 1350+ km & the economy shown by MID was 29kmpl, also calculated it by tank to tank method & the number came out to be true. Impressive !

Few negatives if I have to nitpick:

1. The side stand could have been sturdier.
2. Buzz is present at higher speeds.
3. Honda could have managed to show better information on the TFT screen, the layout is simple, and easy to read but more information regarding ride summary would be great to have.
4. Quick shifter & cruise control could have made it an almost perfect bike !

My left rider footpeg was broken after a fall. I was able to fit in my xpulse footpeg on the cb500x without issues. It should fit the nx500 as well. This has also improved standing stance on the bike for trail rides! Let me know if any queries

I checked out the NX500 with a friend today at BigWing, Mekhri. I must admit that I didn't have much hope, but I was pleasantly blown away after a quick test ride!

Here is a summary of our collective observations: "It's got a solid all-round performance, making for a great overall experience. Its power delivery is smooth, making it beginner-friendly, and it's fuel-efficient, as expected from a Honda. While it may not be the best value for money, it holds its value well. It handles bad roads decently and has good torque for city driving."
