Hello,
Just received whatsApp message from near by Honda dealership ( in Chennai) informing that NX500 CC is being launched very soon ..so hold on ! we have waited for last 2 years..
To be taken with a huge pinch of salt. Before buying the Speed 400 few months ago, (before I even had such a thought,) I was looking at the CB500F. I got pics from the dealer and multiple possible delivery dates. This is their usual response. They themselves don't know and are kept in the dark perpetually. I think they're gonna screw up the pricing as is the norm with Honda. Happy to be proven otherwise.
I'm going to take a wild guess on the price , it will be priced at 7.99 lakh ex-showroom. This will slot it comfortably under the transalp and at the same time make it exorbitantly priced which is in-line with the time honoured traditional of Honda.
What would be a good price for this bike if we consider the CB350 to be well-priced? In a year or so, I would like to replace my CB350 with a 450+ CC bike and would prefer something with a refined engine and this could be one of my options. I can afford up to double of the CB350's current price.

Pricing in the range of 4.5 to 5.5 Lakhs would be great for this bike. The latest Himmi is already giving others sleepless nights.
Sighs if only this dream comes true.
Retails at GBP 6,800 in the UK. So it should be around ~Rs. 7 lakhs (ex-showroom) here.

Its going to be on the higher side compared to locally manufactured bikes. Plus there is brand value also, Honda bikes will cost you more compared to ktms and they are justified to a certain extent. 6-6.5 lakhs will be a good price according to me.
Heard from a birdie that Honda has the last discounted price in mind for the new launch, i.e ~5.79L ex-showroom.

First reason makes sense. They can't avoid the CKD premium in the Indian market.
Second is incorrect everywhere else but in India - the Honda is priced similar to KTM 390 Adventure and slightly more than a top-end new Himalayan in markets like UK. And nothing more like a brand premium!

I was not aware of this pricing in the UK. Thank you for sharing.
Do you know if these are all locally manufactured in the UK or all CKDs? If locally manufactured Honda is costlier than a ckd Ktm then its difficult to compare again(imo).
Once we have this information, then its easier to conclude if there is an additional price for the brand.
Ideally it should cost only a bit more( Honda premium) than the RE twins. The earlier price of 5.79l ex-showroom should be the on-road price imho. Won't happen.
OT: Are licence frame holders for bikes illegal now? Triumph asc said so when I requested the same.

I think the tax regime in those countries is a lot saner and doesnt have the insane penalty for CKD and CBU That we in India have. That really is the root of the issue here.
