Looks like the RS457 is faster than both the KTM 390s in the capable hands of Rajni Krishnan. His comments on the bike are also impressive- looks like one of the best track tools we have in the market.
It is closer to the Monster SP than the new 390, very impressive. Was not expecting an almost 4-5 seconds difference. And to think, it is quite under stressed to comply with the A2 license norms. Rajni did say there was more time to be had on both bikes.

Quite a loaded app and navigation interface we got here. The brownie point is that the Indian models get this pre-installed while the Western markets have to pay for the connectivity module separately

Re: Aprilia RS 457 Track Review

The media reviews from European motorcycling journalists have started to appear on Youtube and unsurprisingly, they seem to love it. Im waiting for the 44 Teeth review of the Aprilia!

Meanwhile, Autocar India has compared the Aprilia RS 457 with the track favourite KTM RC 390. It looks like Aprilia has a clear winner on its hands.

Re: Aprilia RS 457 Track Review

Sarge has also dropped his more detailed road test review shortly. Can’t wait to see that as well. Seems like if you get the brakes issue fixed, (which it seems is fixable) this will clearly be the new segment standard. Of course, we need to bear in mind that the RC 390 is still competing as the outgoing edition. Will be interesting to revisit the comparison once the all new Duke based RC is out as to how much of that gap it can bridge.

Despite the delays and communication lapses, this message still planted a wide grin on my face

The first batch is already en route for the customers who paid the entire ex-showroom upfront and mine will be a part of the next consignment.

Re: Aprilia RS 457 Track Review

Finally received a call from the dealership on the delivery schedule for my bike. They have confirmed bike arrival in next 10 to 15 days. Can't control my excitement, fingers crossed.

Re: Aprilia RS 457 Track Review

Seems like Aprilia has a winner on their hands, time will tell about its reliability and after sales services but the overall package seems great. I hope this wakes up the Japanese and they start taking our market seriously in this price bracket.

If I was a bit younger I would've picked the RS457 in a heartbeat but some minor back issues are holding me back. Holding out for a Tuareg 457, would like to own an ADV someday. Either that or a Tuono 457, will also nicely flesh out the lineup. Fingers crossed I hope Aprilia follows up with these two in the near future.

Received from the ASM. Some of these prices don't even make sense. 29k for front brake lever protection!? WHAT?

At the same time, the windscreen seems absurdly cheap at 899. Thankfully race brake pads have also made it to the list but the price seems rather steep. Attaching the original PDF as well.

Should wait it out before investing in the pads. Those calipers looks ditto to the new KTM Bybre calipers (probably the older ones as well). If the pads are similar, you'll have a lot more cheaper options.

I don't plan on hitting the track within the next 5 months at least so not rushing to get them and the stock pads seem to be good enough for road use based on the videos. Even one of my close friends said that the 390's pads will most likely be a direct fit onto these callipers so let's see. Out of this entire catalogue, I am only interested in getting the quickshifter as soon as possible.

The prices for some of these accessories are outright robbery imo. It is amplified by the almost VFM pricing of the bike. The TPMS cost is eye watering. The adjustable brake lever is 5k+ and to me it looks like the same MC unit found on KTMs and that should be a cheaper upgrade to the 390 levers.

Edit: Looks like someone has already done it.

Adj brake lever 5.5k and brake lever protection 30k. So basically the protection makes sense if you anticipating dropping and breaking the brake lever (adjustable one that too) more than 6 times. I don't know who was in charge of pricing these products. And the windshield being 899 also doesn't make sense. Did they miss another digit ?

Anyway, the bike pricing is great and it is a solid product in its factory avtar. Don't really need these accesories other than the few well priced ones. I'm sure some other bike's sintered brake pads would fit fine and cost ~3k. Almost all of the premium single cyl bikes in India have Bybre caliper. So I'm assuming there will be atleast 1 direct fit sintered pads.

So according to the dealership, most of the accessories will be imported directly from Aprilia Italy. Hence the prices. I'm assuming, since they are manufacturing the bike here, they must be manufacturing high windscreen, seat cowl in India itself, and therefore, the cheaper prices.

US Price for quickshifter is 250$+ taxes and labour.

Re: Aprilia RS 457 Track Review

Even if the accessories are imported, some of these prices make no sense.

17,000 for the bike cover? Might as well build a small shed for that price
