Thanks, justin.das. Yes, my dad had tried the new j series, he liked the design but from the early days one thing was different, he rode it after the CB 350. He felt Honda has a much more refined engine by every means.

Maybe you can't digest the design as it has a Honda badge on a Royal Enfield design. I can't wait to see the Honda ADV 350.

The original CB350 Twin is the OG classic of all time. Rare find around our area. Kudos for keeping the classic beauty.

OK. I am yet to test-drive both of these bikes. From the reviews, I thought the J series was very good.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review

It's been so long since I have updated this thread on the Honda CB 350 as my father mainly rides it as I'm out of the station. The vehicle completed its 1st and 2nd Services during the period. I am updating on the service details and experiences.

1st Service/ 1 Month Maintenance Update (974 km up)

I took the delivery at the start of this year (18/01/24) and due to the initial excitement, the first ~1000 km was up in no time. During the last week of the first month, a small noise was heard from the front mudguards. Mine was one of the first batches of Honda CB 350 which had a small issue with the front mudguard. Completing nearing 1000 km, I dropped into the Bigwing Muvattupuzha showroom on 17/02/24 for the first service. I went to the showroom in the morning. As the showroom had just opened up, I was the only customer at that time. Seamlessly the jobcard was generated and told me to reach by 2:00 pm. As promised, got the vehicle at the right time. Took a small test drive for a few kilometers to check whether the mudguard issue persisted. Finally, it was gone.

Below are the 1st service details that cost me ₹1560.18(including tax).

2nd Service/ 6th Month Maintenance Update (4661 km up)

It was time for a second service and gone for BigWing Muvattupuzha as I liked the approach of service personnel and the work done. There was a little touch of white paint on the engine side which happened when I parked the bike in the parking lot. Mentioned this issue and they said it was hard to resolve it. During the second service, I went for the fully synthetic oil recommended by Honda. The water service was not much to the expectation as the showroom was a little crowded by bikes for its periodic service maintenance.

Below are the 2nd service details that cost me ₹2043.31(including tax).

Overall, I'm happy with the service experience in the Honda BigWing Muvattupuzha showroom and I do recommend their service to fellow Bhpians.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review

A Trip to Valparai: The 7th Heaven

The Onam holidays were coming. I was very keen to go somewhere like a one-day trip due to the limited time period. At the time, I got to know that one of my childhood friends had returned from Bangalore in his semester break. I told him an idea about a small one-day trip and left the matter. I came back home and went to sleep early. In the middle of my sleep, my phone rang.

It's Kurian. (Now one called Mr.K)

Mr.K: What's your plan for tomorrow?

Me: Nothing much. I'm free.

Mr.K: Okay. What about going to Munnar or elsewhere?

Me: We usually go to Munnar right? Why can't we change some locations?

Mr.K: Yeah. I'm ready.

Me: Let's go Valparai.

I gave Mr. K. some details about the route, to plan a basic itinerary. I was fast asleep and tired during the journey. In the morning, woke up around 5:30 AM and saw his message to start the trip by 8:00 AM.

Route: Perumbavoor>> Athirapilly>>Malakkappara>>Valparai>>Kolengode>>Pe rumbavoor

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review-1.jpg

We started the trip around 8 AM. Initially, we thought about going via the Malayattor forest-Athirappilly route. But due to the heavy rain, the road might be worse than ever. So we have decided to skip that and go via Angamaly. Apart from the usual route, we have gone to Athirappily by taking a deviation from Muringoor taking Muringoor- Ezhattumugham route. There wasn't much crowd in the Athirapilly area and we reached the checkpost. We need to take a travel pass from the forest department once we reach there to continue the journey to Malakkappara. There are no fees deducted for the pass. There were NSS volunteers asking whether we have any plastic bottles and if we have any, they have created an awareness on not to throw bottles or litter anywhere along the road.

The last session of Athirapilly-Malkkapara has very bad roads.

There was a little bit of road construction going on the way. We need to wait for 15 minutes as the road was fully closed due to the work.

Reaching Malakkapara, the first thing to drink is a hot boost. I was so good for that climate.

Sholayar Dam's viewpoint was amazing in every way possible along with the secret sauce of rain. As there was heavy rain, we didn't capture it.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review

After covering the Valparai hairpin curves, our next destination was Kolengode. We have diverted just before reaching Pollachi through Kottur. There were a lot of coconut tree plantations all along the way.

Reaching Kollengode, (It's a village located in the Palakkad district of Kerala) one can see this from the road itself. They have some small exhibits of old farming and it's a must-visit. Also, there is an entry pass of 20Rs. Let the beauty speak.

Nice write up brother, and a great machine to ride. As you said in an earlier post, we are somewhat unlucky chaps, Honda is not pretty serious about our market, hopefully they will change this mindset soon. One of my dear friend few months back took CB350 RS. It was his 1st bike, so I highly recommended CB after positive reviews from our fellow Team-Bhp members and knowing Honda's reliability back from CD100 days. In recent times I had ridden only their big bikes. And oh boy CB 350 was a delight to ride and nimble, I was pretty impressed how a single pot can be so buttery smooth. When compared to my Int650 it was only lagging in top end torque, and a tachometer. And need to commend Honda Bigwing guys especially in Kochi, they know how to take care of prospective buyers, one among them Mr.Abin is now working in Muvattupuza.

That is one scary scene sometimes. Elephant spotting

I have done a ride back in February or so. But the route was not as scenic as yours. The greenery now is too good and as correctly mentioned, one of the Many heavens of this world.

After seeing your post, I too feel the itch to ride this route immediately.

Cheers and many more happy rides.

Photos are stunning. I haven’t visited Valparai yet, but I didn't expect such stunning beauty there. I thought it would be less special compared to Kodaikanal or Ooty, but it seems Valparai is definitely a must-visit place.

Thanks for sharing!

This route is infamous for elephant spotting. There are special area where you can spot them as a herd. It is one of the best routes to visit during monsoon season. I have been planning this ride from the start of the monsoon but didn't have time to commit to it. Even though, we got proper rain after reaching Malakkappara.

Thanks, DieselLover. Valparai town has good amount of hotels. You can sort it out by checking the ratings in google maps.

Thanks, raptor_diwan.It's a must-visit route. There are good resorts and homestays in Valparai and in Malakkappara. It's actually a peaceful place to spend your weekend.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review

Resetting the service indicator in the Honda CB 350:

Just after the Valaparai ride, the CB clocked 5500km which is the service interval of the second service. I have done the second service (Honda CB 350 Ownership Review) of the vehicle in 4661km as it has been 6 months as the period.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review-1.jpg

So the service light was blinking, indicating it was time for the next periodic service. Below is the tutorial on how to turn off the service maintenance alert.

Step 1: Press both of the inbuild toggle buttons in the meter console. Holding it for 3 seconds will lead to the blinking of the ECO indicator. Once the ECO indication starts blinking, turn off the key.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review-2.jpg

Step 2: After 5 seconds, one can turn on the key and wait for the service indication to be turned off. Finally, the service indicator will be turned off.

Honda CB 350 Ownership Review-img_20240927_150221143_hdr.jpg

PS: The entire process is done while pressing the toggle buttons on the meter console.(Both step 1 & 2)

Re: Honda CB 350 Ownership Review

Hey guys! I had a question regarding the CB350 line. I am planning on purchasing this bike next year, and I am quite confused about the differences between the CB350, the CB350RS, and the CB350 Hness. For reference, I would prefer a riding style that is not overly committed (I enjoy the riding position of KTM Dukes as an example), so I wanted to know which model would suit my needs better as I heard that the RS lacks Bluetooth connectivity and a USB charging port. Do you think these features are required? I also wanted to know if there is any difference between the power delivery of these models, as I enjoy a slightly spirited riding experience. Please help me with these questions.

Thank you so much in advance !

Fundamentally, they are all the same underpinnings in different clothing. Power and Torque are pretty much the same in all 3. They also have similar suspension & brake set ups. The main variation is in the wheel and tyre sizes. The H'ness and CB350 have 19 inch front wheel and 18 inch rear wheel with 130 section tyres at the rear. The RS has a 19 inch front and 17 inch rear with a 150 section tyre. The RS is considered the sporty of the 3 in terms of looks and also weighs a couple of kgs lesser than the other 2. The RS also has lesser chrome elements on it compared to the other 2 models. You can test ride all 3 and pick one which suits your comfort best. All the best with the selection and do let us know what you pick up!
