Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

Suzuki Motorcycles is working on a new Access 125. As the latest spy images suggest, the scooter is likely to get a major update.

The test mule of the updated Suzuki Access 125 was recently spotted testing. While the overall design of the scooter looks familiar, we can expect subtle changes to the bodywork and a reprofiled headlamp.

Other changes we’ve noted on this prototype are the new rear mudguard and exhaust heat shield. The Access 125 might also get hazard lights in addition to features like a USB charging port and an external fuel filler.

Suzuki is likely to retain the same 124cc single-cylinder engine as the current model. It produces 8.5 BHP and 10 Nm and is paired with a CVT.

Re: Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

I am not able to find any more updates since this news came out so many months ago. Did Suzuki postpone the whole thing? Does anyone know?

I have confirmed information from a major supplier about it being a "facelift". Vendors have already started supplying parts for it. It could be launched by festive season

Suzuki Access 125 Facelift @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Big shoutout to libranof1987 for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

There’s no new generation of the Suzuki Access 125 yet and only the facelift was launched at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The prices start at Rs. 81,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The changes are very minimal and the scooter carries forward its original design:

There are 3 variants available – Standard, Special and Ride Connect Edition. 5 colour options available are Solid Ice Green, Pearl Shiny Beige, Metallic Mat Stellar Blue, Pearl Grace White and Metallic Mat Black:

Re: Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

The updates are a little disappointing.

I was expecting more changes after so many years.

The suspension and the storage could use an update

Re: Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

Its very disappointing to see only few cosmetic updates after so many years of access in the market. I'm not sure why these Japanese automakers don't put enough effort like our Indian automakers put in! A little work on the engine department would have made more sense. I'm given to understand that the torque has been increased and power reduced, both by a very negligible number. Suzuki claims increased mileage of 1.5%!. Not sure if these makes any sense.

Looks like the fuel lid has either been moved under seat or it now gets an Activa like flap. A welcome move if it is latter!

There is clearly a flap. Look wt the pic sbove where LED tail lights are highlighted. The Suzuki lettering at the rear is on the fuel lid flap.

Even Hero Xoom 125 has an external fuel lid now (110 has it under the seat) so there is no way a sane manufacturer will break what is already fixed.

Yup! Compared to my Swish (a stylized Access, MY2012-2015), power has gone down from 8.5bhp to 8.3bhp and torque has gone up from 9.8Nm to 10.2Nm. Somehow the power has gone down despite the new ones being fuel injected (mine is carburetted).

And the fuel tank is smaller, 5.3L now compared to 6L in my scooter. Front discs and combined brake systems have been around in other scooters for more than 10 years now. This is a pretty sorry state of mechanical R&D for a model that's been around for ~15 years now.

Re: Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

While TVS has introduced DRL's on Jupiter that increases its appeal, Suzuki is still stuck in age-old design. Already Access is trailing Jupiter's monthly sales by ~25%. The gap will widen further.

Re: Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

Why does the Access keep getting older in looks?

First gen looked fun, very similar to the Activa, the subsequent updates just have started to make it look "Bleh"

Re: Suzuki Access 125 facelift spied for the first time

I ended up getting the old Access a few months back. I'm not regretting the purchase after seeing the new one. Such minimal changes. I was expecting a mechanical upgrade or at least a TFT screen.

Suzuki has done minor cosmetic changes but 2025 Access has a new chassis & engine received major updates.

It's a flap now.

The big change in the 2025 Suzuki Access 125 is that it is based on a new chassis. Suzuki tells us that it developed a new frame due to complications with exhaust muffler routing. This is because the exhaust system has been revised with new catalyst chambers to meet stricter emission norms.

The 2025 Access 125 also gets a heavily revised engine. While the bore and stroke figures are the same, there are many significant changes; the camshaft, crankshaft and crankcases are all new. The cases have changed because Suzuki has moved to a new starter clutch, which helps with a silent start. The fuel injectors are also different, and the ECU programming has been revised to match these changes. Power and torque stand at the same 8.4hp and 10.2Nm, but the company claims a small increase in fuel efficiency.

While the earlier Access had a single front pocket in the apron, the latest one gets two. Other features include a hazard light switch and a brake lock clasp.
