Mods for AVY

Its been a little over 2 months I bought my black AVY. Already had cruised over 2100 km. But I find a sharp difference in the engine noise after cruising at about 70-80 kmph. It somewhat gets thinner with a metallic sound. Can anyone please suggest any kind of performance modifications that can be tried. I m thinking of a K&N.will it be of any help?
