One more important factor in this is the opening of new showrooms across the country. As Triumph widens its reach, more factory dispatches and buyers are joining the Triumph customer base. I've noticed many potential buyers with concerns about the lack of service centers. Recently, there has been an increase in showroom openings across various cities, and I hope this number continues to grow or at least remains steady.

BMW doesn't share the dispatch figures so they aren't shown in the list. Neither does Ducati for that matter.

In total sales they were definitely ahead of Kawasaki thanks to the sales of the 310 bikes which would do 500-600 units a month but now with the Triumph 400cc bikes BMW will be far far behind.

I didn’t watch motorinc’s video past “Kawasaki thinks India as a fifth world country”. I would question motoinc as to why they havent made a single video above 450cc bikes. Does motorinc think India as a fifth world country? Or manufacturers just dont give them anything bigger than say 300cc.
Very well said. No other manufacturer has a line up similar to that of Kawasaki. They offer almost everything they have in the Indian market which is commendable.

Motorinc has not got a single review of any of the big bikes. Not sure why. Possible that they (wrongly) feel the Indian audience isn't yet ready for a talk on the big bikes.

Instead of calling out Kawasaki for the Ninja 300 and the W175, I would call out KTM. KTM has nothing above the 390 on sale here despite making some great big bikes. It's they who think India isn't a country for the big bikes.

Re: September 2024: Indian Motorcycle & Scooter Sales Figures & Analysis

In CY2024, HONDA XL750 transalp, has sold more than double of what triumph 660 tiger, Suzuki 800DE, Kawasaki versys 650 has managed to sell combined

Thats the brand power of Honda, but Honda themselves cant leverage their brand position!

Hope things change, India needs more of Honda Goodness

I'm sorry but why OLA figures are not part of this analysis? Or am I missing something?

No offense but if you ask me it's the other way round. India does not need any Honda goodness. It's Honda that needs India's goodness and if they feel they're above it then it's their loss.
There is no dearth of good motorcycles from our domestic or the international manufacturers. There is one to cater to every need. And the Honda reliability is not a granted thing anymore.
A friend had booked the Africa Twin in Dec 2023, with Bigwing Mumbai promising delivery in April 2024.
Tired of waiting till August for it, he cancelled the booking and bought the BMW 1300GS and is happy with it.

If Honda can't care less about India, it's time we do the same about them.

I totally agree with you, all I want to say is there is soo much goodwill amongst customer for the brand Honda but Honda themselves cannot leverage it

And we cannot ignore them, whole Indian 2 wheeler industry owe their existence to Japan

Finally the EVs from traditional manufacturers Bajaj & TVS have overtaken OLA in terms of dispatches. Mr.Bhavish has to swallow his pride and take action, else they risk being a money burning machine.

Another small but significant feat is the new TVS Jupiter has sold more than 1.02L units. Clearly a winner. I wish the sales figures for this capable underdog scooter only goes up & up!

It's good to see that Rizta continues to make up a large portion of Ather's sales. I see Ather as a major EV brand in the coming decade. Not that it isn't one currently, but only quality products will survive in the next 10 years, and I see Ather somewhere at the top of the ladder.

I believe it is because of this.

Same with us. We checked with Honda for Africa twin DCT, since two years not one came so went ahead with 1300.

The fact is there is real distress amongst population for jobs. Suddenly there is a demand for bike taxi, zomato, blinkit etc where fairly good money is made. Cost of bike is very important for someone who wants to earn but has no money. These bikes are still available for less than 75k. Throw in offers, low EMIs and you have buyers. I am ready to replace my old bike but for pure utility and my age, I am buying scooter. My mantra in life has been why pay more when your needs can be met with less.
