According to a media report, Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch the next generation Chetak this month. The latest iteration of the popular electric scooter could debut around mid-December.
The next-gen Chetak is said to be based on a new chassis. The new design incorporates the battery pack under the floorboard, which will liberate more space in the boot.
Reports also suggest that the new Chetak might get a higher capacity battery pack, offering more range than the outgoing version. Currently, the Chetak offers a range of 123-137 km depending on the variant.
Not much is known about the design of the new Chetak. However, reports do suggest that Bajaj might stick with the same neo-retro design.
The next-gen Chetak will compete with the TVS iQube, Ola S1 and Ather Rizta in the Indian market.

Rather than any possible gimmicks, I hope they just work on increasing the real world range to above 150 at the minimum. The scooter is a utilitarian vehicle first and foremost. People will adjust to the lower 73kmph top speed provided it gives them substantial mileage gains.
This was much needed. Rizta is able to hold a full face helmet and some more.
This is the bare minimum a scooter must have as thats why people buy scooters for , its Utility.
