Scoop! Hero Xtreme 250R spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR

It looks like Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch the Xtreme 250R in India. The bike was recently spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR.

The Hero Xtreme 250R was unveiled at EICMA last year. It is essentially a naked version of the Karizma XMR 250, which was also showcased at the event.

The Xtreme 250R looks quite aggressive in these images. It has a sporty LED headlamp with a digital instrument console and radiator fairings with ‘R’ decals. The bike comes with a 2-piece stepped seat with a split pillion grab rail, a rear hugger, and a side-mounted exhaust with a silver heatshield.

The Xtreme 250R is powered by an all-new 250cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 30 BHP and 25 Nm. The new motor is derived from the outgoing 210cc unit and has a longer stroke and a new crankcase.

The bike is equipped with an upside-down fork finished in gold and a rear mono-shock. The brake setup consists of single petal-type discs at the front and rear, respectively.

Thanks to the Team-BHP fan (he prefers to remain anonymous) who sent these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing them with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP share page!

The engine specs are close to the Duke 250

The Xtreme 250R was unveiled at EICMA 2024 and it'll go on sale soon. The Xoom 160 was showcased at EICMA 2023 alongside Xoom 125 and there's still no word on either of the scooters launch. Just one mule for the 125 was spied before.

As someone who likes maxi scooters, I hope it gets launched sometime this year.

Re: Scoop! Hero Xtreme 250R spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR

Really happy to see Hero gearing up and waking from the slumber. Off late they have proved that they can launch good looking designs eg. 125 cc bike - Xtreme 125 R. They are able to also achieve good sales on Xtreme 125 R.

This bike looks awesome, bulky, aggressive. Achieving the right dimensional balance and good aesthetics is very important in India.

They should use this engine and make a mild-offroader good looking bike with the right seating position, raised handlebars and some basic features required for touring. This bike should be such that off-roaders and even those who want a comfortable bike (not a street naked bike) both can opt for it.

That headlamp looks exactly similar to BMW G310R's headlamp. I love the alloy wheel design though! Tank looks too bulky or too tall at least in pictures, not sure how it looks in real.

Looks Nice and Beefy, way a Naked sports should be done. This will definitely grab eye balls. I for one like the entire package, neatly done.

Re: Scoop! Hero Xtreme 250R spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR

Could be just me, but Hero would be much more successful in the premium-ish market if they just
(a) Fix their service network and customer experience
(b) Have a nicer sounding brand. I for one, will probably never buy a "Hero", just too much expectation comes with the name (:-D)

Having said that, I've seen multiple 125's and 160's on the road now, and they really look stunning, save for the skinny and small rear tyre. When these were new, and I was out of touch from the market, I asked one of the riders one exactly what it was, the dash looked delicious, the stance was striking. Save for the rear tyre, I'd be hard-pressed to tell it was a 125.

That's a surprise from Hero. never thought it would arrive so fast even though it is just a TVC shoot.
This looks Xtremely well put-together motorcycle. Hero's recent design has attracted many young buyers be it Xtreme 125R or Xoom.

And this will be available through Premia which is still not available in major cities.
That is one of the reasons XMR and M440 are not selling well.

That's one sick looking Hero - maybe after OG Karizma and CBZ. The specs look very good for a 250cc motor. Reminds me of the Karizma and CBZ days when they had the most impressive specs for the most aspirational bikes at the time which made every kid go weak in their knees. Hero needs to recreate that magic.

I am in the market for a 250-400cc and keenly awaiting this one. Hope they price it right and is a good performer. Looks and specs wise, this bike has a winner written over it. Other two on my shortlist are Duke 250 and Speed 400.

Re: Scoop! Hero Xtreme 250R spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR

Hero has to sort out their usual issues regarding service and product quality and they can potentially have a good bike on their hands. Other than the ungainly tank(hope it is just a pictorial illusion), the design is quite enticing. Considering people are praising Hero's chassis and suspension development team, this street fighter can be quite a hoot. And a good and competent engine will be the icing on the cake, looking at the performance claims they are making.

Question: How much does ride-by-wire and cable throttle differ perceivably in terms of throttle response and consistency, considering both are well configured and tuned respectively as per their standards?

Because one difference would be lack of sophisticated electronic aids in a cable operated throttle. The question arises as this is going to compete against the KTM Duke 250 which has ride-by-wire throttle(hence the Quickshifter+) and the Hero Xtreme seems to have a cable throttle(at least they have tucked the cables properly below the handlebar this time, which gaudily protrudes upwards on the Mavrick 440 and Harley X440). Hence a speculation that Hero can price it quite aggressively undercutting the Duke, which they must to gain the initial market traction.

Re: Scoop! Hero Xtreme 250R spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR

That's one good looking bike. I believe Hero and Bajaj will do very well with their planned offerings at the expense of RE since market for Adv and sports bikes is growing.

Only thing that's needed is more power. Like cars, we need to grow up in engine displacement

Re: Scoop! Hero Xtreme 250R spotted during a TVC shoot in Delhi-NCR

Bike looks good, Aggressive and ready to take on the competition head on. From the pictures it looks Bulky & Muscular (which is how a Liter class bike looks like). Hope the Weight and Seat Height is manageable. The current 250cc segment is the new 150cc segment of the early 2010s.

TVS, Bajaj, KTM. et al are already into 300 cc + Segments and Hero is still stuck in less than 300cc segment (not counting Harley Davidson Partnership). Wishing you good Luck Hero Motorcorp

This isn't entirely true. For KTM at least the bread & butter models are the 200 & 250. They bring in the most volumes.

I'm genuinely surprised that it has a 120 rear section, maybe the Zomato delivery guy had a different (base) variant, I'm not even sure if there are more variants than the one you looked up. Or maybe the rear styling makes the tyre look skinny, but to my subjective eye, in those few minutes, I got the impression that the rear tyre was skinny. Of course, I didn't find it offensive since it is a 125. But I will definitely keep an eye out when I'm on the road the next time round. Thanks for pointing it out!

But back to topic, yeah, the bike looks really good, Hero has been hitting it out of the park lately, it's a shame they're unable to sell as many (premium ones - Maverick specifically) as they ought to.
