The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is the first motorcycle from the brand to feature hybrid tech similar to the Fascino. The bike was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

The FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder engine paired with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). It delivers 12.3 BHP and 13.3 Nm and comes with a stop-and-start system.

Yamaha has also made some ergonomic changes to the FZ-S. The company claims that the revised handlebar position improves comfort, while the new switchgear is easier to use. The fuel tank also has a new cap.

In terms of features, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid comes equipped with a 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument console. It can be connected to the smartphone using the Y-Connect app, allowing the rider to access the turn-by-turn navigation feature.

The most unserious motorcycle company. Every other manufacturer have bigger capacity bikes.

Only Yamaha says 'No good stuff for you' to Indians. Even Honda has 3 bikes in the 250-350 segment at various price range.

What's their problem with the Indian market? At least get the FZ25 back.

This bike has runs its course here.

That's new info for me; I wasn't aware they discontinued the FZ25. Poor sales maybe? My opinion is that they go fully into performance/activity oriented machines rather than commuter models. I see more R15's than fascino's. Maybe work on a Tenere 500 and sell it for 20 years.

Re: Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid launched at Rs 1.45 lakh

Yamaha has diluted the FZ brand so much over the past decade. From being the sporty naked bike that was sought after by every youngster, the current generation has become a regular commuter that just has a bulky plastic tank and a smooth but boring engine.

Half-hearted attempts on the FZ-25 and Fazer 25 just led to abysmal market acceptance. They even went ahead and used the same headlight from the FZ-25 for the Fazer 25 during launch and in the updated version, while the OG Fazer was known for its twin-eyed headlights.

Yamaha is becoming what Honda has become for cars—surviving with a limited number of offerings, banking on their decade-old technology.

https://www.bikewale.com/yamaha-bike...%20full%20tank.

There is a slight increase in FE.

In two wheelers are there any strong hybrids like toyota cars?

Companies should develop hybrid engines with FE more than 100 kmpl. Designing a CNG two wheeler will always have problems due to tank placement and CNG filling infrastructure issues.

They discontinued the FZ-25 because it wasn't worth it to them to upgrade the engine to BS6.

What a scam! They should be sued for calling this a "hybrid" just like MSIL was fined for calling their cars hybrids.

Putting in an ISG does not make the vehicle a hybrid. A hybrid should be capable of electric-only propulsion for at least a small distance.

Re: Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid launched at Rs 1.45 lakh

Yamaha India currently offers only 150cc commuter and sporty commuter bikes. Excluding the R3 and MT-03, which aren’t available for display or test rides (Exists for name sake), their lineup lacks true performance options.

In the past, Yamaha positioned models like the Gladiator and Saluto as commuters, but they didn’t perform well. So, instead they’ve turned their sporty naked bikes into full-time commuters. Back then, the FZ had a legacy and a strong fan following—now, it’s been reduced to what the Splendor is for Hero.

Despite this, they still brand their premium showrooms as “Blue Square” while offering nothing beyond 150cc.
