Must give Kudos to TVS for keep giving their all to 310RR, wish the sales number reflected the same. It is such a competent bike and now gets even better, but still does not sell as much as it should.

Guess they need to develop a twin cylinder engine soon, as at current point except for vibey engine and limited service center touch points there is really very difficult to find anything else wrong with this bike.

Will BMW let them have the 450 engine in near future is something that only time will tell.

This bike receives too much hate for that engine. True if is inferior to its rivals but on every other department( especially tech) this bike is way ahead of its competitors. People should give credit where it is due, instead of bashing them only for the weak points.

I really like the alloy design, looks like it has been lifted from the RTR.

The current RR is very capable and very fun to ride. The color option for the BTO however is sadly Yamahafied. The stickering work is extensive which may turn away potential buyers , if they are like me. I do wish matt black was an option again. Even for the RTR, while I do love the color scheme and its contrast with the alloys, a deeper shade of black would have made the bike even more appealing.

The core of the RR310, the engine is unfortunately its weakest aspect. It generates more vibrations than even a Royal Enfield, and the lack of interest from dealers, who are often unwilling to offer test rides, adds to the disappointment. IMHO even a KTM level refinement would have made a world of difference.

I hope you understand it is the engine around which a bike is built, not the other way around. Sales numbers speaks for themselves that you can have everything right but if heart is the problem, everything else becomes a moot point. Having wings, quickshifter, riding modes, clear clutch case on a bike which has a vibey engine will only get you brownie points not sales.

I still remember the numbness in my hand if I used to ride this bike for more then 50 kms at highway speeds, it was very evident and irritating. TVS needs to fix the heart.

+1.

Why TVS refuses to update this horse crap of an engine is beyond me.

To anyone defending this product, I ask you this - are you buying a gadget on two wheels or a motorcycle?

So many new features, hope they worked on the engine refinement too. The handlebars vibrate like a massager and it gets really annoying really fast. No amount of features (or gimmicks like the heating/cooling seat) will compensate for this drawback.

Also the blue unit in the photo looks quite bad imo, reminds me of when I used all the WordArt styles in one document as a kid other two colours look nice though.

Because of the contract that they have with BMW I believe? There were rumours of some other engine being developed, nit sure where that plan went now.

To that second question of yours, well as both of us are KTM owners, do you think it would be fair if we said we were buying a motorcycle only and not a gadget on 2 wheels?

This blue color looks good but isn't ₹10k pretty steep for a color option.

It’s been 8 years and now even BMW has axed those two rubbish motorcycles.

KTM’s core competency has always been their sharp chassis engineering along with engaging riding dynamics. While KTM has caught up in recent years with electronics (ride modes, traction control, quickshifters, etc.), their main appeal still lies in that visceral riding experience. You’ll often hear riders (perhaps even yourself) say, “KTMs just feel alive.”

To give credit where it’s due, TVS is no less in its chassis engineering. To be frank, from my own experience and from several reviewers, the RR310 has always been very very good in its handling. I’ve also heard KTM caught up or matched TVS RR310 handling only post launch of latest gen duke.

The only fly in the ointment for TVS is the engine. And off-late TVS has changed its design language to be more flashy and accessories/gimmicks focused which isn’t good in my opinion.
