Honda used to make the CBR 250. Sounds crazy. My local mech has one with him right now.

Actually, the frames are much different. Also, the 600 is a larger bike in every regard.
West, congrats! Eagerly awaiting photos and your report!

Sagar, i have nothing against any one, it was just a contridiction of situation in AP. You sound like 4 cylinder bikes are very common in vizag or in AP. I hardly see a sports bike in here, and you are talking abt 4 cylinder on 250 cc:Frustrati .. that was my point. |
West, I have nothing against you either. I was only trying to make my point. But i don't know where i sounded in my post that 4-cyl bikes are very common in viazg or AP. And let's be honest, what is common on our roads does not excite most of us and i am sure you would at least agree with me on this one. coming to Ninja,, I have nothing against Ninja or any other bike as long as it is an inline 4-cyl bike. that is my personal choice and you don't have to agree with me on this. Anyway congrats on your new purchase and enjoy. As for me I'm a sound freak and not looks, mileage or performance freak. and as far as right sounds are concerned no other confuguration can match an inline 4-cyl bike. whether Hon, Suzi, yam or Kawa or whether 250 cc or 1400 cc, they all sound same as long as they have inline 4 engines.
Got It!!!!!!!!!! .

Congrats on the green monster. What are you waiting for? POST.:)
It would be best if you are able to create a new thread and have a detailed review with pics and if possible some videos. I want to hear how it sounds. Thanks.

Congrats:)
Now you know what to do next:thumbs up
Thanks guys, To be frank if ever bajaj builts this bike, it would cost them 2.2 and will be below 4 times par level, I drove a 200, 220 pulsar, even if you add 30cc extra to 220 you simply cant compare.. Its just a legend Ninja. Well today truck came, and my green monster is at the back of all these pulsar black 220sss.. Wow it cant be compared.. I was desperate, I took it of the truck:D and Wow wow..
I drove 50kms today mostly below 3500 rpm, whats the use of owner ship review, the beast has to go over 7000 , and its really sounds and picks up like a race bike.. I will open a thread and post some pictures in it for now, run in time is 600 kms, after that the review comes..
To be honest its the best balanced vehicle I ever sat on, handle feels more like karisma and very free the turn and very very light weight.
Today, i found out 9 bookings for these bikes in hyderabad 5 black, 4 green and now waiting time is 3 months..It seems alloted quota for a city is 9 bikes within 3 months , rest is for later..
Rest is for later..
Congratulations West ...
Hope to see you riding the beaming green Ninja sometime on Hyderabad roads ...
Congratulations West :)
Would be keenly looking for your updates on the riding & ownership experience :)
Congratulations West clap:
Atleast post pictures man for now. I am sure the 600kms will be over soon and a detailed ownership report will be on here :D
Congrats @West!! So whens 600kms getting over ? 4 days ? :D
Get on with the pics for a start!! Congrats again buddy!
Been to a morning run , maintained 4000 rpm.. couple of times did 7000 rpm in 2 and 3 gear :D Very stable and balanced & can hear it roar from 4500rpms. Rear seem to be little stiff. USE ONLY EXTRA PREMIUM PETROL was the advice of my service engineer ARIF(trained in Japan), and my chief engineer is mathews on holiday ,, will go and show him the bike on 26.. he wasnt there at delivery which he has to..
My bike is from second lot , the first had 4 bikes and were on display.. one was delivered to a friend of mine. I insisted to give mine from the pack it self. The odo usually comes like 12 kms and local dealer tests for 6 more kms. I took it at 13kms on ODO. I have a lousy cellphone camera, I will put pics today. Also 600kms is first service due..
Congratulations West.
Cheers,
Jay
Does the manual suggest a run-in period?

Had a quick glance at the book, nope no run in time metioned, but first service was at 1000 kms as opposed to 600 adviced.
I am a mechanical engineer and worked in FEA for some time, As I was figuring out the chassis and different add ons , I found out all are made of some light weight alloy which is neither aluminium nor steel, and they are not done by casting process, but was machined under CNC and unneccessary material removal was their prime goal, even alloy wheels are all hallow, & ofcourse the frame. It is the main reason why ninja is well balanced and light weight.
And yes you get a saree gaurd, and indian made looks bulky and stupid.Tires are IRC made in thailand. Plastics fit and finish is just perfect.. and am sure they are not made in india except the rare mud flap.
I can summarize, that engine is from japan, all other made in thailand and saree guard from india
