2025 Bajaj Dominar 400 reaches dealerships ahead of launch

Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch the 2025 edition of the Dominar 400. The updated bikes have already started reaching dealerships, which suggests that the price announcement could be made anytime soon.

The 2025 Dominar 400 will come with a new LCD instrument console similar to the Pulsar NS 400 Z. It offers features like turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts. The bike gets a new switchgear and the small digital display near the fuel tank has been replaced with a USB charging port.

The 2025 Dominar 400 will be powered by the same 373.3cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine as before. This unit produces 39 BHP @ 8,800 rpm and 35 Nm @ 6,500 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.

The Dominar 400 competes with the Triumph Speed 400, Hero Mavrick 440 and the Apache RTR 310.

You can count on Bajaj for ruining a motorcycle with each update. That twin display was a trademark Dominar feature( Im not talking about its inspiration), replacing it with a charging port is just horrendous. Add to it the horrible NS400Z cluster replacing the beautiful and clean older display. If I were to buy a Dominar, this will be a major dealbreaker for me.

The Dominar doesnt need gimmicks. It needs to lose some weight and take itself less seriously with a major overhaul of its image. I had one for 4 years and it did ok but never excited me. I sold it after 20,000 kms simply because it felt boring. Moved to an Interceptor not because it is more exciting but it at least makes me feel something towards it. My Dominar in comparison just felt sterile.

It needs to make up its mind what it wants to be. It has less than average low end torque and the high end power seems to be pretty tame too. The hadnling is ok but nothing that excites you. The best thing Bajaj have done IMO since its launch was to introduce the green colour and the double barrel exhaust.

Also credit where it is due, the stock headlight is fantastic since launch and continues to be so.

Is this the "premium" Dominar bajaj was talking about ?

NS400's display looks pretty weird on Dominar, still waiting to see whether it gets any other features or not.

PS: Sarcasm Intended.

Re: 2025 Bajaj Dominar 400 reaches dealerships ahead of launch

Dominar was my first motorcycle, bought with my own money, and it was a hell of a machine for me then. I bought the first gen in 2017, it had its niggles, but served me very well for ~5 years & 50k+ km around India, Till I sold as I moved out of the country.

It's so sad to see Bajaj being Bajaj, their facelifts never upgrade from the existing gen, but a downgrade. Either by spec-wise to cut costs or design-wise, usually making a cluttered design.

The twin-display (for 1st gen, it was just the tell-tales) was one attractive point where so many people were really impressed to see/enquire as it stood out from all other motorcycles out there. I was also lucky to have the white color, as they discontinued it later on.

Honestly, I was expecting Bajaj to come up with a proper Adv (Basically next gen of the forgotten AS200). Don't know who exactly in Bajaj consistently making failure strategies.
