According to a media report, Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch two new affordable electric 2-wheelers in July.
With the launch of the low-cost EVs, Hero aims to scale up its production volume, which currently stands at 7,000 units per month. It would also help increase the company’s market share in the electric 2-wheeler segment.
While the exact details of the new affordable electric 2-wheeler are still under wraps, reports suggest that the new model is being developed under the ACPD project. It aims to bring down the cost of electric scooters so as to compete with other ICE scooters.
According to estimates, the new products will boost production volume to around 13,000-15,000 units per month. Eventually, the company aims to scale it up to 20,000 units by this festive season.

Hero Vida VX2 e-scooter spied undisguised ahead of launch
Hero MotoCorp is set to launch a new electric scooter under its Vida sub-brand on July 1. Now, almost a month ahead of its launch, the upcoming model has been spotted at a dealership.
The latest spy images confirm that Hero’s new e-scooter will be called the Vida VX2. It is likely to be offered in two variants. The one featured in these images is the VX2 Plus.
Unlike the Vida V1, the VX2 has a more conventional design and looks similar to the Vida Z that was unveiled at EICMA 2024. It is equipped with a large digital dash, LED lighting, and a flat seat.
The Vida VX2 is likely to be offered with two battery options: 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh. The base variant will get a single removable battery, while the 3.4 kWh version will get dual battery packs with more than 100 km of range.

I hope this iteration addresses all previous issues. It appears that the seat is now a single, uninterrupted unit. The Vida V1 had problems with rainwater seeping in and a fragile seat link, which I hope have been resolved in this model. Additionally, the Limp mode issue that persisted in the Vida V2 still needs to be rectified. I hope these issues have been effectively addressed in this new electric scooter.
