i am totally satisfied with the current castrol gtx 20w50 or the shell helix 20w50 based on the availability at the time of oil change, never tried the synthetic ones yet to try them. i thought spending around 200 bucks for every 1500-2000kms run bike is on the higher side already so thought that suffices for the performance i get!

but will soon try the synthetic ones too and let you know!

anybody any news on where to find the authentic synthetic oil or oil dealer shop here in Hyderabad?

Going for Motul is a good choice...
one more thing,
do flush your engine before going for a synthetic oil.

no doubt synthetic oil works, but i agree with yash(rider60) to try before going for the expensive synthetic oils. AFAIK, synthetic oils are more for the Super Sport bikes and SBKs.

my 2 paise.

Is it really required? Shall turn out to be an expensive affair.

the flushing does give very good results, since my bike is about to reach 5k kms mark and i have been using only 20w50 castrol or shell helix 20w50 i do not think i would need to flush my engine!

Modded P180

Hi I own a P180 UG II

I have been using performance air filter (K & N) and Iridium spark plugs (NGK). While there is lot of controversy over the benefit of using Iridium tip spark plugs, I can vouch for the two components I have changed. I have found a definite improvement in overall performance and in the smoothness of the engine. I cannot comment on the individual component benefit, since I got both the air filter and the spark plugs around the same time.

My suggestions for the mods to ur bike would be a K & N air filter, and a good engine oil. Motul seems to be the one, if u can lay ur hands on it that is (coz I have been hunting for it in B'lore with no result. I use the Castrol Power1 which is priced @ 220Rs per litre). The Iridium tip spark plugs are optional. If you are serious about these, and have problems sourcing them, I could help you with it. PM me for it.

Cheers

What is engine flushing? Will the service centres people do it on request?
And what are the costs involved?

if you can provide a few more details about your bike it would be helpful!
how much as your bike done and at what kms mark did you get this installed?
does the bike have a set of mags(is it the fear the black version?)?
what is the brand of iridium plugs you have been using?
and model?

i am planning to change the engine oil to synthetic oil,but i am getting fully confused in what to put in and how and where should i flush the my pulsars engine.
@Amithmohan could please post some pics of your bike with the K&N,and the prices for these upgrades will be very helpful to some of us owning-bikes.

Cheers..Ramie

Here's another link that can explain things...

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...-engine-5.html

I guess engine flushing means disassembling it and flushing it with petrol to get rid of the oil and carbon settlements inside...
