Mahindra to enter two wheeler market

Mahindra to enter to wheeler market

Last year, Mahindra reportedly held negotiations with two Chinese companies — Chongqing Lifan and Loncin — for separate motorcycle projects.

The talks with Lifan were for a joint venture in India and meetings were held to finalise the modalities for a tie-up.

A possible manufacturing site is the company’s Hardwar plant in Uttarakhand.

I am surprised by this! What I had heard was that the company had scrapped the idea a year ago!

Mahindra Entering two-wheelers

Hii all,

A Many peoples favorite SUV desiner & jeep pioineer in Idia is busy making its profile in manufacturing two-wheelers, the two wheeler scenerio is right now full of HMSI, Hero Honda & the rest are at a distant position to take their names,

Would Mahindra (would due respects) be able to carve it a nich in such highly competative market ? it says that it woudl outsource the desgin from an Italian Engeneers Egine (a company specilising in developing combustion engine & having effective R&D).

Well, YAMAHA is though japanese company, is yet struggling to raise its head in Indian Market- How would Mahindras strategy be... to carve a market for its self is reallly a great challenge.

By the way- you pious automobile buddies,,,how does that sound to hear a twho wheeler by Mahindra!!!

@amtak - lemme correct you on that one. Mahindra first got a sizeable share and then took over Kinetic ! Dunno what brand name would they be using for the 2 wheelers though.

Arre bhai, what I meant was Mahindra is entering the 2 wheeler market with Mahindra Tag. Sorry for being unclear in my post!

Any brand name would do as long as the product name is not "Bijlee"

Well I should say they should come with a very little bigger bike !! Some exciting product but not the crowded entry segment !!
But I do have great hopes on them ...

That's " Kinendra " for u guys.
It should be better than Kinetic as Kinetic was the most pathetic when it came to A S S and spares.

LOL!
BTW, Mahindra do have some kind of strategy for their Two wheelers project. Apart from Kinetic they also own an motorcycle design firm in Italy (Engines and Engineering something). There were reports that they could come up with bigger bikes.
