About the RX135 5 spd

Does anyone here own a stock RX 135 5 spd? I recently tested a friends RX 135 against my Vtec to see how fast it would go. I expected it to hit around 105kmph but my vtec's speedo read 99kmph, with the bike not being able to pull away any further.

Taking the slight road incline into account, we maintained that it would reach around 100-102 kmph if given a flat surface.

When OD tested this bike, Aspi could manage no more than 99kmph (true speed).

Now, if you consider the speedo error on my car, true speed should drop to around 95kmph (from the 99kmph speedo read).

I've personally seen that same bike hit 120kmph on it's speedo, but i really doubt it can manage even 110kmph in stock form.

Maybe if the air temp is colder (say in the morn) maybe we could get a faster top speed.

hey Shn2,

bike speedo's here are even more optimistic than car's! As the OD figure of 99kmph shows, that is the TRUE top speed. The speedo showing 120kmph maybe just to make the rider feel better about himself and the bike

True Sumit, but try telling the other tonner this. He feels his bike can hit 120kmph. Lol.

120 is kinda impossible on the RX 135, my cousin has one, the bike isn't quite comfortable after 100...on the speedo..

Agree with that. I have owned 2 rx-135s(first one got stolen )
I have done 110 on the speedo but it seems quite unstable at that speed. I would think its impossible to go till 120.
But both of these were 4-speed. Maybe the 5-speed version could go faster - or had more speedo error

A RX 135 5 sp blue printed to Group D specs should see a true speed of 115kph with a 50k rider on it.

I cant help laughing when these rx guys say their bikes reach 120 and all. The other day i overheard a couple of guys with yamahas talking about how after 120 their bike was shaking a lil bit and stuff. Idiots.
Sorry.. cant help it

actually its not their fault.
my splendor used to show a speedo rdg of 100kph when its true top speed was only 80-85kph.
i have done 110 kph on a RXG with a pillion.but its very unstable with its skinny 2.5x18 front tires.

NEver underestimate an RX135 5 speed. I've seen some real sleepers made by a tuner which are apparently powerful enuff to power wheelie at 60kph, also the RX 5 speed engine is restricted by 3 very crucial factors
1> Stock Pipe with cat con wont cut it
2> OEM ignition makes the engine run rough and disallows the over rev capability of the bike.
3> Crappy port setup

Get the Port setup right with a good ignition kit and chambers specced to porting along with good flowing carb and the machine will be an altogethr different beast.

rx135 5speed in stock form is only good for 100kmph,but it can be easily tuned to outperforme the rd350
