Mods please change the title to something more like "Suzuki to launch bikes to complete with Pulsar and Kmz"

"Suzuki to launch premium bikes by April 2008" and I jumped in to see hope to see 600 Gixers on the menu.

I am not sure if Comet, Aquila qualifies - I sent a mail to them (email id in their website) regarding availability of Comet / Aquila (Actually wanted Aquila more, since I wanted to try out a cruiser). But got no reply for 2 days. (Surprising, since the bike costs 1.75L and no one took the courtesy of even replying)

i requested for the same to kinetic.. but still haven't got any reply..
kinetic is making news for launching a lot of bikes.. but alas they don't have the efficiency to sell them.. anyways for near 2L you can get a decent 400.. thats what i'm on the lookout for

i had always felt that our grand fathers or maybe even older people were lucky enough that the britsh were ruling and the bikes they got their hands to were all 350 cc plus monsters(atleast by the standards now prevailing).whats your opinion.

I dont think thats completely true, There were barely enough small capacity bikes available at that time.

The 150cc market is crowded. It is time to go beyond 200+. I dont know when they are going to take the step forward..

thats because the comet and aquila were intended as and very clearly marketed as "limited edition" bikes i.e. available in restricted quantity and for a certain time period only. this was 2 years ago for comet and like 4 years ago for aquila.

but kinetic should get more of them, do one more round of import or something.

Makes sense in introducing something in the 250-500cc segment. The # of takers would be high,no doubt. With the R1 hitting Indian shores, the demand will be limited.Instead of shelling out Rs 12lakhs and more, for under Rs 5 lakhs a bike around 500c would be nothing but a best-seller.
