Yamaha >> Performance personified

I found this 1989 make RX -100 at my friend’s house; it was being used by his uncle for daily commuting. I just fell in love with the way it was maintained; completely stock with stock sari guard, original mirrors, tank cover, even the mud flap was original. I immanently wanted to pick it up; the guy finally sold it to me after 3 months of me constantly torturing him, as he wanted to buy a new 800 for his family.

I rode the bike around for 2 weeks in the same condition it was in.
It was original but all the metal like the rims, handle bar, chain guard,
Seat were all very rusty..

So decided to give the old bike face lift... It went straight to Nissar garage in Lingarajpuram. Where it was stripped to the bolt and rebuilt completely...

Engine modifications > >>

+ Porting (inlet exhaust everything)
+ 30 mm mukini carburetor
+ HP cone air filter (with steel mesh)
+ Altered jets for the carb
+ Reed’s are changed
+ 135 cc bore, was over bored with an imported piston from Malaysia.
+ Imported connecting rod (bought with the piston as a set)
+ Head shaved
+ New clutch plates
+ Complete engine overall

Other Modifications > >>

+ Turbo F 16 makes quick throttle kit
+ RENTHAL original shin guard installed on the handle bar
(Imported from the UK)
+ Custom made Handle bar which is very wide
+ 16 piece expansion chamber
+ Aluminum Valve caps
+ Pricol Odo meter (needle broke during testing)
+ CAT EYE digital odo meter (weather proof, detachable anytime as
just slides in to the receiver which is permanently fixed, records
max speed, to and fro lap distance etc..

New parts put in >>>

+ Shogun seat, and indicators
+ RXZ original head lamp, and front mudguard
+ Ind Suzuki back mudguard
+ New Tank and side shields
+ New front Shock pipes
+ New Hub’s Rim’s Spokes Tire’s Tube’s Bearing’s and Break shoes
+ Fork Boots for the front shock rods

Picks>>

cheers:

vis, you fell in love with it for how it was maintained, bought it, and then changed everything about it ?

Cant see any pics. The links you have posted are in-correct.

Sorry bro, as much as i love modded yamahas, i just can't agree with your choice here! U took a perfectly original well loved RX(verrrry rare these days) and turned it into THIS??Just my 2 cents.

as another member said, "you fell in love with it for how it was maintained, bought it, and then changed everything about it ?"

P.S:
Show it to the original owner, He'll probably shoot u!

so true. my dad had an RX which he kept exactly the way he bought it in '88(i think)
finally had to sell it off due to financial issues.

He saw it somewhere else, modded , and was heartbroken :(

if your aim was to mod the bike then why get one that is such good shape and then do this to it. I have to agree with JayD here. You could have picked a scrap bike and done the same thing also.

Waiting for Sankar's comment as his RX135 was just 28bhp or so

@Vikram_d & JayD; happened to us(Sankar & me) at Gottigere. A man came to us when he saw his 10yr plus bullet with us. He identified it coz of the number. Psycho had bought it from him.
