Team-BHP - My Roadking has arrived, but badly

I had a Roadking for about 2 ys somewhere around 1994-95, what a bike, it's the bike I enjoyed most, the only problem in my view is, spare parts should be a little difficult to get, as the other varients share the same parts but Roadking is different, the piston, rings are of different size comapared to Classic and Classic II, but yeh, it's one hell of a bike. I had a RD 350 too, but enjoyed the Roading more, as Roadking never gave me any trouble and the RD was a real pain to upkeep.

aveek, congrats man. was this roadking advertised for sale on one of those webistes, TN regd, maroon colour? pls post some pics dude.

even im hunting for a roadking for the last few months.couldnt get a good one.had a CLII for two years.sold it.now regret selling it.

OT : does anyone know of a raodking for sale in bangalore?

Used to have a Road Kind way back in 83, have used it for 2 popular rallys, one hell of a bike. The RPM is higher then Classic because of the wider & shorter cylendr bore, we used the micarb (original mikuni, if I remember right). I don't understand how anyone can refit it with a bullent carb? Also the original tank (rounder than the calssic) was just right.

The Auto Mode will not destroy the gears, we have taken it apart many times before the rallys and reassembled it, there is a liver which nudges the clutch every time the gear is shifted.

It's one hell of an engine, most troube free, easiest to maintain. Give one hell of a back-kick though if the spart plug gap is not set right... I've know of a guy with broken ankle on the back-kick, beware.....

@ Ramky: Yeah, even I wasn;t sure how he managed to put a bullet carb in, but he's done it, pretty decently. I just don't want an adultrated yezdi, if you know what I mean.. Cheers mate!

The Bullet carb can be fitted on the Yezdi, the flange matches. But it's not good using a 4stroke carb on a 2 stroke bike. The needle, slide & emulsion tubes differ.

Try to get hold of a Jikov carb. I had one with me but i dumped it.

Had a RD350 too for some time; had to distreess sell it fast, used to give 8-10 KM/LTR, huge hole on a small pay packet then, used to bankrupt me before 15th of the month... but wow... that was a possessed nitro-ride while the twin carbs behaved.

Good to see there still are fans of the Yezdi. I met a doc in Cochin with a maroon Roadking in pristine condition, but he's not selling. I'll try to get a few snaps next time I visit him, just in case he changes his mind in future and someone here is interested. It's got a North Karnataka registration though.

Roadking...........was one of my favs too....but settled for a bullet way bak in '95

I can only sit back now & smile at your decision on that. Those were the days when the baddies owned the roadking. The bike had that sort of an affiliation, may be 'coz of its macho look.

Congrats, hope you are able to restore it to its original glory.

In my opinion its one of the most handsome Indian made bikes, very few can beat its stance and look:thumbs up. Used to see them a lot back in 1997 when I came to Bangalore, somehow very few are to be seen these days.
