Sambhai, Fantastic Blog .
Our College days were soooo similar. "RX being an Extension of my body" , "Petrol for five bucks", "Long rides with Girlfriend" et all. Reading it got me all nostaligic and gave me Goose Bumps (the type you get when something captures the essence of a truly unique experience).

What do you mean you'd rather walk?? What's wrong with a Hero Honda? That is also 100cc.
What about a KB100 like your other cousin. That's a quick bike. Seize? What seize? What uphill climb?
Fine, fine. OK. Fine. How much does it cost?

Love the way you convinced your folks to buy you an RX100. You were always been good with words Huh?

Getting it to neutral and locking the handle lock is something that only RX users can do with ease (even years later).

I just read it, and I must say I feel really touched!

And that was a nice insight into YoungSam's life For some reason, I can't picture you in any other way than the way you are now

You do have the gift, Sam. You should write more and more.

Perhaps someday we will see "The World According To The Yeti".

Yes. You got to have that knack of doing it. I still remember a friend's expression when i told him the neutral is between 1 and 2. WHAAAT?

.....and i hated every other bike with all-up or all-down shifts.

I still don't think I'm into bikes.

I'm into story-telling and memories.

Nice writeup Sam, as usual. The RX 100 is a fantastic bike, awesome 1st and 2nd gear accelleration.

I just cannot help not remembering my friend in school who bought a RX 135 after convincing his parents soooooo much. Unfortunately, in his case, he died of a bike accident in his new bike and his parents have not sold the bike yet. Its completely rusted and does not start I'm sure. Its been 10 years now since he left us. His mistake - not wearing a helmet.

Anybody from St.Michaels, Adyar, Chennai here will know this story.

Sorry, I cannot relate much to the RX, but great story. It was a good read.
Tell me about it! What year did you pass out, Ported? Sam, you would have graduated by the time I entered my first year, but this thread reminded me of my RX days at Mithibai. I used to leave for Mithibai at 6:45 a.m. in the morning, full throttle all the way, to reach the dreaded 7:00 a.m. Hindi class on time. Did some hell of riding around Bandra and Juhu once class was over. Also, Gorai beach / Madh Island shacks were only a couple of gear changes away.

One night, my RX got flicked from the Gaiety galaxy parking lot. And my Parents became the happiest
