Hey thanks Phillip! Is that a rubber flange connecting the filter to the Carb?

The problem I had was that it just would not stay on to the carb as the lip on the carb was not long enough for it to get a grip.

will let u know rtech, will ask the mech.. The mechanic is a guy who is specialised in foreign bikes.. he could give some tips about the problem...ok..

Rt,
just called the mech who did the work for philips and yup its the rubber flange connecting the filter to the carb...

LOL tell me man seriously coz all those bikes which come for drag reduce there weight drastically by removing the entire headlamp assembly, side & rear panels, putting a slim rear tyre... the list goes on
