Hi Gendarmee

I think my battery is an Exide one. Yet to check.

Right, I believe Avenger comes with maintenance free battery with 3 years guarantee! Bajaj's quality is quite a concern though...keep us posted!

VSG, after you set right your bike once, please run it in for 1 or 2 free services. I like to call it stress testing. If you dont mind rip off all the extra fittings you have done for a few months and let it run until everything is set. I had a bajaj boxer for 3.5 years until i sold it off, never had a battery down situaiton. just do the regular maintenance, which includes charging the battery too.

too bad in the new Avg200, pul200,220 there is no kick starter. bajaj should rethink that design on indian roads until they come with a 'bomb proof' electrical system.

ps - anyone ever heard of a superbike (western ones) giving such cranking issues because of a weak battery?

More than battery - I have heard its Bajaj's starter motor and electrical connection that cause more problems!

^i have been using Avenger 180 for past 2 years, to be frank, i haven't used the kick start for more than 3 or 4 times, that too coz i felt like using it. Apart from that my bike has never failed to start using the Electric Start. So i feel the decision to take out the kick start from the new model ain't a bad decision.

Also the battery has never failed me either, there were few times where i kept the key in the ignition position for more than 6 hrs by mistake .
