For customers, it probably is a good news.

Kinetic has been notorious for poor quality of their vehicles coupled with equally bad A/S/S. I don't know if things would change dramatically (for good) by M&M taking over Kinetic, but they certainly won't be as bad as Kinetic itself.

Flyte owners have a reason to cheer up

not at all. mahindra and kinetic have formed a new company that will buy out the 2-wheeler based assets of kinetic motor and not of kinetic engineering that manufacturers the g/b for the nano.

its only the 2-wheeler business that this jv will undertake.

That's really a great news, Especially with kinetic taking a beating from Honda on their non geared 2 wheeler segment and better after sales service. Its time some one took over and handled things well! But imagine a 2 wheeler named "Mahindra" Sounds weird doesn't it?

HEY guys- tell me something here- You think this MAHINDRA tag on a two wheeler would sound well, look at the giants here the HONDAS, YAMAHA - SUZUKI and so on these giants have experince & R&D of making bikes like no one else on earth- now Mahindra wants to go to Italay & get technology & do his business into a mrket that is now going in reverse gear.

Finance companies are in tights with the credits of highest reates & there is logger head compettion all around- even a company like YAMAHA that is strongest after HONDA is breathing un-easy, SUZUKI was smart to catch up with the Scooter segment & able to survive with some food spitted frorm the HONDA Activas over booking.

Hero Honda is moving with gerat lead & BAJAJ galloping with its best to catch up them but this guy Rajeev Bajaj sells only with schemes- Kinetic is out of the game- does Mahindra want to enter a business with SYM alone ?

I guess he would be having a subtle strategy to come and do his business here- you guys think that his two-wheeler business gonna be equivalent to the market share as what he owns in four wheelers?

But in Rurals even today Mahindra has a strong name- hope he does not degrade his four wheelers with the kind of two-wheelershes gonna make , this should be complimentory & not contradict their good will.

i have to agree that the entry of m&m into the 2-wheeler market raises a lot of questions.

but somethings are sure, hero honda, bajaj, tvs and honda and suz and yam too are not going to be sitting around sucking their thumbs and have not been doing so. they are right on top on whats going on in the market. it is NOT going to be anyting close to easy for m&m in this market.

firstly m&m have to "cleanse" themselves of the kinetic brand because the name kinetic is a "curse". all the curse of lakhs of aggreived kinetic customers will be acting against this new venture.

m&m better hope that the kinetic name will not sink their new venture.
