All credit goes to Guru Ron Chinoy for sharing so much knowledge and building this engine and to my mechanic Atha for cycle parts, cosmatics etc.

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Nice RD Ajay! I love the front end and the meters. Did you rebuild the caliper and master cylinder? If so, is it worth the money? as the rebuild kits are very expensive. did someone carry them for you from the US? any probs at the Indian airport? oops.. too many questions!

Yes rebuild them, kits are available but too expensive any how managed to get spares via DHL, bribing customs etc, expensive but worth the investment.

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Don't have the bifurcation of cosmetic things but paid 24K for Paint, chrome, dis-melting and assembling the bike, that doesn't includes the engine assembling part. That was during initial phase, later on for mounting the US spec. front end paid some 2k as labour which i felt quite worth as apart from cleaning the hose pipes, calliper rebuild, custom t stem job for mounting hydraulic pipes etc he donated his R5 dust boots, as Indian RD dust boots are not suitable for these forks and US spec fork dust boots costs close to 40$+shipping+duty.

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Super re-build Ajay! I so much wish I could do something like this but being away from home half the year is a pain! May I ask what was the total cost incurred from start to finish if you have kept track?

Cheers.

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Not sure about the total cost as in between couple of more RD's came and went out but at present on this RD including another stock stock 89 LT I have spent close to 6L which includes parts worth one more RD without papers.
BTW you have very nice collection of bikes love that VF750F and GSX750, let me know if you need helping hands if you are facing issue in riding all of them on regular basis.

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Ajay, can you measure the length of the forks of Indian RD and US RD. I am keen to know the size of the fork tube and fork lower/Yokes. You have mentioned that US one's are taller then Indian RD.
Reason why I asked for the information is, can we fit US fork lowers to fork tubes of Indian RD?

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

All length, width etc are same only difference is their internals specially the fork springs its kind of bit more lengthy and progressive and that's how bike feels bit taller by couple on inches. You can fit inner tubes of Indian RD but beat bet will be complete setup.
If you are using lower legs from US RD make sure you are getting the fork dust boots as well as our Indian fork dust boots doesn't fits on them and new ones are quite costly.

Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Good, I already had in my mind to change the springs to Progressive springs.I will try to get the whole setup but the lowers seems better deal as it's easier to ship and carry. Will use Indian tubes with them.
