Re: The Yamaha 'RX' Thread (with pics)

Guys need some advice

I have a Feb 2000 Black RX 135 which has run only 25,000 Kms till today in stock condition except the low slung handle bar without even opening the engine even once. With periodic oil changes it runs amazing and the pickup it provides brings evil grin on my face.
My parents had bought me the bike during my college days.
I use the bike sparingly for market errands during the weekend.
Many people are offering me to buy the bike including various mechanics but never gave any serious thought about it.

As the spares are getting hard to find. Does it make sense to sell the bike? If yes how much should i expect for the bike. Papers are in order with original bill etc...

Cheers

That's personal choice. If you don't have parking issues and don't mind spending few grands annually on her maintenance, I suggest you should not let her go.

Close to 30k is ideal price (considering the virgin engine and low mileage with clear titles)

DON'T SELL.... you may not get one in this condition ever. If I ever had a bike like this, I wouldn't sell.

Yamaha spares are easily available in JC Road, you probably should spend sometime there looking for the required spares or even the experts here can help you source them. But please, DO NOT SELL if you have the space to keep it and the time to ride it

Re: The Yamaha 'RX' Thread (with pics)

Thanks Guys for the advice.

Dont have any space constraints to park the bike as we have a covered parking in the basement.

Will keep the bike and need to spend some time to get it back to it glory.

Wow 1.5 lakhs for a RX 135. Spell bound

Cheers

Re: The Yamaha 'RX' Thread (with pics)

Guys need some help on tyres for my RX100. I am fitting the Pulsars 17 in alloys on my RX. Wanted to know what would be the ideal tyre size that I should go for for the front and rear.

FR : 2.75 x 17
RR : 3.00 x 17 (safe bet), but people do use 100/90-17 after removing the chain guard (not sure if the swing arm is dented to avoid tire scraping)

Thanks Mr Boss - I am planning to the full chain cover - especially due to the monsoon season. Would the 3x17 still fit?

You can fit 300 X 18 without any issues, I am using this in 2 of my bikes, with the chain cover on you can go up till 315 X 17 on a slightly wider rims

what is the widest rim you have used in 18"? something that doesn't foul with anything, tyre would be 300X18.

1.85 with 3.00x18 (removed from the recently restored RX135)
