Restored my RX135. Tank and side covers were just polished and the engine internals are untouched. Butterfly crash guard is pending due to no stock and will get it in another week hopefully.

Looks stunning. How much did this cost you? Any more work that is planned?

Thank you jomson. It costed around 15K+ and I have not really looked at the list of expenses. Parts had to be sourced from different places trying to keep it stock as much as possible. Bike has been with me from the showroom :).
I don't have a RX series but I've a brother from same mother - a 2007 Libero G5 as my daily commuter bike. This bike has been super reliable since the date of purchase and has never complained me of anything. I'm thinking of installing front disc brake setup for this 15 year old for obvious reason. I have asked my trusted mechanic and he got enthused with this work. He said me that he will do it with new parts that are compatible to G5 Libero (OEM never gave disc variant to Libero only Gladiator had it back then). Before giving my bike for installation may I know if there's any safety risk involved in after market disc setup?
There are few Yamahas with after market discs in Bangalore, so go ahead. Libero didnt carry a disc, you're right on that. On a totally irrelevant point I recall a Libero fitted out like RX, here it is

My friend bought RXK (which is direct fit for Indian RXZ/135) piston kit, connecting rod etc from Dubai Yamaha showroom. It took six months to get the parts. The cost for the set (piston, rings, connecting rod, bearings etc) is 3,000 rupees. Please find below the part numbers.
3KA-E1635-30 Piston
3KA-E1604-10 Piston ring
3KA-E1651-00 Connecting rod
3KA-E1681-00 Crank pin
93310-422Y1 Bearing
90209-22071 Washer
3KA-E1633-00 Piston pin
93310-216Y4 Bearing

Hi Folks,
I know this is a tad too late and out of the blue but would it be possible for you to guide/help me in sourcing spare parts for my Yamaha Rx King from Indonesia or Malaysia?
What are the major parts required (A List with specific Part Numbers would be great) to convert / upgrade my Yamaha Rx 135 4-speed to Rx-King & which website / seller is reliable for the same amongst Tokopedia, Shopee & Bukalapak or any other.
Thanks in advance.
My restored RX 135 4 Speed. 2002. Company fitted Cat silence. Rebored by 0.25. The black paint has more shiny metal added for a good metallic finish. It was a ground up restoration, took a bit more than 4 months to complete. I am trying my best to use the 2T oil tank rather than doing a premix with petrol. Have replaced the 2T oil pump with a new one from Pricol
My friend bought Mikuni VM24 from Dubai to use in his RX. The cost is 8,000 rupees. I think this carb was originally used in RX125 and should be direct fit in Indian RX.
I am working on my 1990 RX 100. Its five year fitness is due in the next few days. It retains its original factory metallic wine red shade and chrome.
As it is less used these days, there are quite a few gremlins here and there. The battery fitted in 2020 (Amaron) conked off and I got a new Amaron (12V) for Rs 900=00. The old battery was handed over that entitled me to a rebate of Rs 150=00 from its price Rs 1050=00.
The bike has been given a thorough shampoo and wash today and will get polished soon.
The seat was changed about two years ago. The old one's base plate was rusted and the foam had become hard and unrelenting. This new one has a plastic base that is easier on maintenance.
Next after dismantling the whole seat, some surprises are sighted in the exposed metals and plastics. The chassis portion near the battery to the left is rusty. The black paint had peeled off to be newly coated with natural rust. Most other portions of the chassis are intact as the bike is in my garage always. I scraped the rust on the chassis entirely, thereafter exposing the bare metal. Later on, I applied a red oxide coat with brush. After this dried I applied black paint with a brush. Now it looks better.
Dismantling the seat and also petrol tank regularly are recommended to check the chassis.
Otherwise, the bike is mechanically trouble free and likes to be used always.

Installed NGK cable in RX. Since it has no joints, safe in rainy season. Works best with BPR7HIX Iridium plugs. |
Where did you source the NGK cable in India?
Any link to order?
Any difference in performance after this install?

I bought cable from NGK distributor in Dubai. The price was 650 rupees. The advantages are easy morning start and smooth working. There is no noticeable improvement in the performance. Also bought NGK B8HS spark plugs (110 rupees) from them.
From a recent ride to Ooty
