Can anyone suggest the maximum tyre size which I can put on my new RTR without any modifications( ie,no modification on the chain cover also)?
Front rim size-17''
Rear rim size -18''

I am planning to put Michelin M45 or Michelin Circa tyres on both front and rear.Front alloy is 17" and rear alloy is 18".I want to know which tyre is better,whether it is tubeless and which will be the maximum tyre size possible to put on both front and rear without any modifications to chain cover,swing arm,mud guard(front) etc..

I have bought a Apache about 3.5 Months ago , and I was planning the change of the rear tire,
So I would like to ask 2 Queries
1. Is 120/80 or 120/90 Available for 18" Alloys ?
2. If yes, is MRF Zapper a good choice and what will be its approximate price?

My budget is around Rs. 1000

I believe that the 90/90 that is stock up front is brilliant ...for the rear try dunlop geo cruiser 100/90....awesome grip and no drop in power...feels great to corner as well...

Use Michelin or Pirelli as it has soft compound & sticks to the road & has good wet grip.

I have used the Pirelli Sport Demon and it grips well. Now i have shifted to MRF Zapper Y which came as OE on the Karizma, and know what? This tyre is as good as the PSD on dry roads. With this tyre I can lean as much as i could with the PSD without getting that sensation of rear giving away.

Sankar, yes contrary to other bikes Zapper Y performs very well on ZMA & almost all weather. But it cant take the abuse which the PSD can :D

Coming back to topic PSD is not recommended for Apache as its a heavy tire. I have heard zapper Q as good for apache.

I wouldn't go for Dunlop after having used it twice on Pulsars(180 & 150)

Zapper Q is a decent pick. If you can downsize the rim to 17", then nothing like R-15's rear tire.

Would anyone suggest me best tyres for TVS Flame. I would like to replace rear tyre with a wider one. Looking for a one which has good stability and performance.

use R15 front tyre (not wide but excellent grip)

for rear you can try m45 , zapper q , pirelli ( heavy tyre) or duro 918

To convert to metric/universal tyre measurements:

3.25 x 25.4 = 83 (metric) next size up is 90
4.00 x 25.4 = 102 (metric) next size up is 110

Front wheel height for 90 (3.5" wide) is:
19" + 2 x aspect height (/90) = 25.4" tall
For a slightly taller tyre we could try 100/90 (3.9" wide - almost 3/4" too wide)
19" + 2 x aspect height (/90) = 26.1" tall

Rear wheel height for 110 (4.3" wide) would be:
18" + 2 x aspect height (/80) = 24.9" or (/90) = 25.8" tall
Since this is not a good height fit we could also try a 120 tyre with a smaller aspect ratio

Eg:

Front: 90/90-19 = 3.5"wide x 25.4" tall
Front: 100/90-19 = 3.9" wide x 26.1" tall
Rear: 110/90-18 = 4.3" wide x 25.8" tall
Rear: 120/80-18 = 4.7" wide x 25.6" tall

Planning to change the tires on my Apache RTR 160(2011) to tubeless ones.
The stock size of the tires are:
Front 90/90 x 17”, Rear 100/80 x 18”
I'd like to change to a size wider on the rear ones, with better grip, especially on wet roads. Any suggestions?

Your best bet is move to the yamaha R15 tyres, they are simply good in terms of grip levels.

For the front tyre its fine. But the rear is an 18" rim and the R15 tyre is a 17". If it was RTR180 then yes it would be a perfect fit as the rear rim of the 180 is 17".
