Sanker, my suggestion is to go for the FI version. Definitely it will be better than the Carb version. Major thing being smooth and responsive acceleration.

Today the bike finally came to the tvm showroom. There were four bikes two Yellows, one Orange and a Metallic Grey. For me the metallic Grey looks the best as it's the most subtle of the lot and it will allow me to go on my own business without attracting unwanted attention.

I took a small test ride and the feedback was positive. I'm pasting below my views about the bike which i had posted earlier in our Bullet Yahoo groups.
--------------------------------------
Whats an Apache RTR test ride doing on a Bullet forum you might ask!

But let me tell you this is one hell of a plastic rocket! The throttle
response is amazing to say the least and the braking with twin disc
brakes is really impressive even with the pathetic TVS tyres! I have a
feeling that this bike will easily power wheelie! The power delivery
is crisp all over the rpm range and the low end grunt is enough to
climb the Kalhatty ascent! The clutch is sharp like a carving knife
and the feel is good.

I'm buying one Fret not homies i'm not selling the KRanK The RTR
would provide a nice company to my Bullet. The Bullet would thank me
for buying the Apache as it would satisfy my high speed quest and i
would quit wringing the Bulls neck without mercy.
----------------------------------------

The on road price here at Trivandrum is 71chillar. And yes the price does include the rear wheel disc brake.

Nice review Sankar.

How much is the price difference between carb & FI? It freaking 10k in Pune (FI costs 75k here :()

Also how do you compare it against the carb RTR?

Jay i'll call you when i go to the showroom next time.

Techno, the RTR carb costs 64 chillar (otr) and it costs 65 chillar (otr for Yellow) here in Trivandrum. The difference thus is 6k to 7k.

The throttle response and the difference in power delivery between the Carb and the EFI version of the RTR is massive. EFI is a LOT better.

Mammootty? EEKKkkssss!!!

Naked version of the R15 is the FZR150 right? That has an air cooled block and head with other mechanical changes, performance won't be anywhere near the R15.

No i haven't test ridden the R15 yet. R15 would be faster than the RTR any how. In my opinion it's too much money for too little displacement.

I completely agree sankar, You just said it. if budget is your concern then RTR fi is your cake.

Yep Pradeep for normal street usage and daily runs the extra 38k for the R15 doesn't make sense to me. The stock RTR Fi has a decent performance and only lacks in the WOW factor!

Congrats Sankar. Great choice!!

Do not even think about changing the colour. Grey is classic where as Yellow and Orange are too flashy in my opinion.

Grey is my favourite, next choice would be Black.

I have a Suzuki Fiero (First lot from Cochin when there was alliance between TVS and Suzuki). I agree that R15 is not worth the extra.

Waiting for the initial review and pictures my friend.

Grey is classic/stealth. Rest are flashy but safer.

Waiting for his initial review, mods and then review!

Congrats Sankar

The grey-matt black looks very good.(reminds or Robocop's car's color )

I rode both carb & FI & looks like you have made the right choice :-)

My preference would be yellow or orange more likely to be yellow since it has colors of both of my previous bikes(Yellow ZMA & Black Pulsar )

Eagerly Waiting for your review :-)

When is the delivery expected?

Sankar,
I feel u have made the right choice of colour for daily commute .
As a keen observer of colours on bikes i see alot of yellow bike ie TVS APACHE 's getting faded with time.
