Which K & N Filter For Unicorn: - Suggestions ?

I Currently Ride a Unicorn with a K & N R-1060 Universal Conical Air filter, My Brother is getting his Unicorn next week so should i go ahead and get myself another R-1060 or should I get something bigger like the R-1082 or R-1100 ?

Does Anyone Know about any other filter like UNI or something ? and another thing is it should be below 2.5 K and available in Cochin or Coimbatore.

Go for R1100 or R1082 if ti would fit.

And do give Pete's a visit. The Green Cotton is also very good.

They're good too.. I had it on my RX a long time ago. They're foam filters.

can the K&N 1100 or R1082 be fitted on any bike? Do they need to be cleaned more frequently than regular filters?

muneemmk - I think you must go ahead with the RC 1100. There was a noticable difference when my friend who had a RC 1060 on his Zma replaced it with the RC 1060.

Yes there should be a difference. R1060 is just too small.

That sounds sweet will definitely check it out next week(RC1100) , meanwhile the unicorn is having a waiting period of one and a half month .

Asked around for the R1082 but not to be found anywhere.

Muneemmk. I suggest you buy the R1100 instead of the RC1100. RC have a chrome cap over the rubber at the back of the pod thats all so if you don't care much about bling bling go or R1100 and the latter would be priced less compared to the chrome variant.

Btw check out Green too, pay Petes a visit. KX1.44 is what i had on my bike and i would rate it higher than the R1100 for the basic fact that the KX1.44 had a larger filtration area and at the same time costs the same.

It will depend on where you plan to fit it. If inside the airbox then you will have to see if the airbox can accomodate it. If you fit it outside the airbox then it might need frequent cleaning, but it mostly depends upon the terrain you ride on. R1082 is similar to the R1100 only difference being the 1082 has a straight flange.

Need Advice on installing K&N for Uni

Hi friends,

Adding to Abduls's Query, even i hav a 2005 Uni and Iam gettting Engine re-worked with new Boar Set (Includes Piston & Rings), Iam also porting the new Boar and Also resetting Cams & Cranks for better initials. even I want to know which would be the best & powerfull K&N for Uni, because this would be the first time i would install K&N in my bike. Will there be any drop in the fuel effieciency when installed. the most important I want to know is will there be a feel of difference in Initials and Top speed compared to the stock Filter. How frequent cleaning soes K&N filter require.
I heard that installing K&N filters will damage the Engine ..

Waiting for your reply guys

Bhargava.

I don't think a Boar would fit inside the little Uni engine. Obelix would be square with you if you hide Boars inside the engine and he wouldn't like the taste of a ported Boar

I Drove a new Unicorn without filter it felt so underpowered but smooth compared to my bike meanwhile petes websites given full info regarding the Green filters Pricing. Should i consider it over a K & N , also i simply love the sound of my filter , won't there be a similar sound if a get a Green Filter ?

Stick To RC-1060,it does the job for almost all the indian bikes.

A bigger filter means more air flow, more chances of running lean and which would lead to engine damage(unless u upjet accordingly)

Be it any filter, dont forget to rejet the carb

I have a RC-1060 on my zma since 35K kms now with a 135 main jet and its running perfectly since then
